The garage, located along 30th Street, has room for 383 vehicles. According to a recent study, it's rarely ever more than 50% full. That means about 200 spots are going unused."I will watch people come into North Park and circle the parking garage looking for a parking spot, not knowing they're circling a place with 400 available ones," says Angela Landsberg, the Executive Director of North Park Main Street.Landsberg says the garage is often empty because there aren't enough signs letting people know it's there. She also says the only entrance, on 29th Street, makes it hard for people to access. She'd like to see the owners do more to promote it as an option for parking in the area."I think that people are not used to getting out and walking," she says. "The expectation is that we are going to pull up and have parking right next to the businesses that exist and that's not realistic looking forward."The garage charges an hour, with a daily maximum. It also charges flat rates during special events. Landsberg says it's just a matter of changing people's habits when they come to North Park."There are other communities that would kill to have a parking structure like this," she says.ACE Parking, who operates the garage, send the following statement to 10News:"ACE supports efforts by the City of San Diego and other cities to encourage alternative mobility options like cycling. NEW YORK, N.Y. – Peloton has issued a recall for some of its bike pedals due to a laceration hazard.Thursday, that home fitness company said about 54,000 of its PR70P clip-in pedals are being recalled. They’re the first-generation pedals fitted on Peloton bikes sold between July 2013 and May 2016.The company has received at least 120 reports of pedals breaking, including 16 reports of leg injuries, five of which required medical care, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.The Peloton logo and the word "PELOTON" are molded into the pedal body. An orange Peloton symbol and white lettering spelling "PELOTON" are also printed on the top of the cleat binding. They were fitted on bikes that sold for about ,000.Peloton says anyone with these pedals should stop using them immediately and that it’s notifying all affected consumers directly on how to receive free replacement pedals, along with instructions for self-installation.Peloton says its pedals are warranted for one year and all remaining PR70P clip-in pedals in service are out of warranty. "Leave it on for at least one minute, and then you can rinse it off."Samson said not all household cleaners are the same, and do not have the same contact-surface time that is required. He recommends reading the labels of the cleaner you intend to use.Larkin and Samson said it is easy to make your own cleaners at home. However, be cautious about mixing chemicals, and be aware what you are cleaning with."The chemistry of mixing a chlorine-based cleaner with an ammonia-based cleaner can be deadly to those in the immediate area," said Samson. "The reaction of these two cleaners is to release chlorine products into the surrounding environment, in some cases, enough to cause severe injury or death. NEW YORK (AP) — A scientist who collected DNA from Scotland's Loch Ness suggests the lake's fabled monster might be a giant eel.Neil Gemmell from the University of Otago in New Zealand says the project found a surprisingly high amount of eel DNA in the water. He cautioned that it's not clear whether that indicates a gigantic eel or just a lot of little ones.But he said at a news conference in Scotland on Thursday that the idea of a giant eel is at least plausible.The DNA project found no evidence to support the notion that the monster is a long-necked ancient reptile called a plesiosaur (PLEE'-see-uh-sawr).Loch Ness is the largest and second deepest body of fresh water in the British Isles. 707
