The summer season begins in Del Mar in less than a month, bringing with it a wealth of exciting events, but also a large influx of crowds and traffic.As one of the smallest cities in San Diego County, Del Mar has just about 4,000 people. But on any given day in the summer, more than 100,000 people could come to town. People have to pay for parking seven days a week in some areas, with meters going until 10 pm on weekends."We provide services for close to 5 million people a year," says Vice Mayor Dave Druker. "Somehow we need to pay a little bit of those services through our parking enforcement. The video streaming service Netflix has been indicted by a grand jury in Texas over the film “Cuties,” alleging the company used “lewd” images."Cuties" is a French film that follows the story of an 11-year-old Senegalese immigrant in France who rebels against her family's Muslim traditions and joins a free-spirited dance crew.The film, directed by Ma?mouna Doucouré and originally called “Mignonnes”, won a directing award at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.A Tyler County, Texas grand jury moved to return an indictment against Netflix last month, according to multiple media reports.The complaint alleges Netflix knowingly promoted visual material which “depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or public area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created, which appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.”In response, Netflix stated “‘Cuties’ is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children,” according to a statement in Deadline. “This charge is without merit and we stand by the film.”Netflix was reportedly served a summons October 1.Earlier this summer Netflix was forced to apologize for what they called “inappropriate art work” used to promote the movie on their service.The main image Netflix originally used shows the four lead actresses, all girls, wearing black and turquoise dance outfits revealing their stomachs and most of their legs, while posed mid-dance.The images used in France for the film show the girls walking down the street holding shopping bags.The film is recommended for 16+, according to Netflix. In the days following the release of the artwork, thousands had signed a Change.org petition calling for the film to be removed from Netflix. The Tampa Police Department is searching for a young man who was caught on camera doing a skateboard trick across a custom-painted car in Ybor City.A spokesperson for the police department said the case is being investigated as a felony criminal mischief. Detectives would like to speak with Dalton Newbury as a person of interest. According to those who have shared the video that's getting thousands of shares on Facebook, it was originally posted to Instagram by the skateboarder himself. The separation of church and state has come under much scrutiny during this election season.At Zion Baptist Church in Denver, Pastor Rev. Frank Davis is encouraging members of his congregation to vote with faith.“My faith is voting what the bible says about right and wrong, about what the bible about a good neighbor,” he said.While leading a prayer service, Rev. Davis addressed issues ranging from race and religion to prophecies and politics.“America cannot be great with the division that it shares,” he said.A recent survey by the PEW Research Center shows nearly two-thirds of Americans want religious institutions to stay out of politics.Some churches, however, are still getting involved.During this presidential election, members of Zion Baptist Church are stepping outside of their house of worship and helping voters on the ground level.“As a faith-based entity, as a Christian entity, we believe that we are guided by principals that are really higher than day-to-day politics,” said Gwendolyn Mami, one of many members of Zion Baptist Church volunteering their time during this election by providing voters free rides to polling sitesVolunteers are also picking up and delivering ballots to those unable to do so for themselves.It’s a different kind of church service and comes at a time when there are questions nationally about both voter fraud and voter suppression.“This is a very strange time in which we are living,” Mami said. “There is a lot of confusion there is a lot of misinformation.”While Zion Baptist has a long history of political and social involvement in their community, Rev.
