AMMAN, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- China and Jordan agreed Sunday to deepen all-round cooperation and work together to promote the peace process in the Middle East during top Chinese political adviser Yu Zhengsheng's visit to the country.

He called on the two sides to work together to further expand the size of their two-way trade and investment, promote bilateral cooperation in such fields as energy, finance and high-speed railway, to bring benefits to the two peoples, which is also conducive to global peace and stability and regional prosperity and development.

He expressed the hope that the Italian Senate will continue to support the advancement of the China-Italy relations, and promote more progress of bilateral cooperation in diversified fields.

Concerning the future direction of the ASEM, leaders underlined the importance of developing activities and fresh thinking and of involving all stakeholders, including civil society organizations and the media, to enhance ASEM visibility and relevance.

The finance ministers stressed the role infrastructure investment plays in realizing growth potential and meeting development goals.
