Norwegian Cruise Lines announced they are extending their suspension of all cruises until at least March 2021, as coronavirus cases remain high in the US and around the world.In a statement released Wednesday, Norwegian said all trips departing between January 1 and February 28 as well as “select voyages in March 2021” will be suspended. The suspension also applies to Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises through March 31, 2021.“Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. … today announces an extension of its previously announced suspension of global cruise voyages as the Company continues to work through its return to service plan to meet the requirements of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” the statement reads.Norwegian now has the longest suspension of major cruise operators. Carnival and Royal Caribbean announced last month they would suspend voyages through January 2021. Some Carnival voyages are canceled through February.The CDC lifted a no-sail order at the end of October, however a few days later, the Cruise Lines International Association, which represents about 95 percent of cruise operators, issued a statement that they would voluntarily suspend voyages through the end of the year, at least.Then a few days before Thanksgiving, the CDC warned Americans about traveling on cruises and the potential for contracting COVID-19. OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - Police are searching for the suspect who reportedly shot a man at the Oceanside Transit Center Saturday night. Oceanside Police officers were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found the victim on the ground suffering a gunshot wound the abdomen. The man was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At some point, the victim told police the suspect was staying at the Motel 6 along North Coast Highway. Police searched the hotel room the suspect was reportedly staying in, but the suspect wasn’t found. The shooting doesn't appear to be gang relates, police say. 683

OCEANSIDE (CNS) - Two cars overturned into an embankment off Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton Sunday, but the people inside both vehicles were able to escape without serious injuries.A silver car lost control and sideswiped another car on northbound I-5 past Las Pulgas Road shortly after 11 a.m., California Highway Patrol dispatchers were told.Several drivers pulled over to help, and the people inside both cars were able to get out before CHP officers and fire personnel got to the scene, according to a CHP incident log.At least one person was hurt, but the injuries were described as minor. 609

On Tuesday evening, researchers tracing an Orca whale that has been carrying her dead calf on her nose saw the whale still doing so.It isn't unusual for Orcas to carry their babies who die for about a day. This is the first time scientists studying the behavior have seen one do it for this long.The activity is stressful for the 20-year-old whale mother named Tahlequah. EcoWatch reports the baby's carcass sinks, and the mother has to retrieve it and push it along with her nose in sometimes choppy waters.Tahlequah was spotted Tuesday evening in waters near British Columbia's Southern Gulf Islands, the Seattle Times said.According to the Seattle Times, this is the first time in three years an endangered Orca has given birth. 759

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) — A suspect has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a 17-year-old girl in unincorporated Escondido on Saturday.Paul Anthony Lissona, 29, of Escondido, was arrested and charged with felony hit and run charges in connection with the death of a teenager early Saturday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.According to CHP, the crash happened on Mesa Rock Road near Mesa Ranch Drive around 12:30 a.m. The teenager was standing outside a vehicle parked on the right shoulder talking with four friends. As three of the individuals, including the teen, crossed the road from east to west a vehicle speeding northbound hit the teen.The teen's friends and nearby residents tried to help her, but she died at the scene. She has not been identified.CHP said at about 2 a.m. Sunday, officers located a white Toyota Highlander matching the description of the vehicle involved in the collision. CHP added that "a conscientious person heard about the incident, observed the vehicle and contacted the CHP leading to the arrest."Additional charges are pending against Lissona, CHP said. 1120
