Police are looking for a man wanted for the disappearance and possible homicide in connection with a two-year-old near Bakersfield, California.Officers initiated an investigation into the disappearance of Ramon Angel Reyes-Chavez, 2, around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday night, police said.During the investigation, detectives developed information leading them to believe that Reyes-Chavez was the victim of a homicide.Detectives identified Kaleb Jordan Kessinger, 20, as a suspect in this case.They attempted to contact him when they saw him driving his car, but he took off about 10:45 p.m. Officers said he later crashed his car near Calloway Drive and Olive Drive.He was last seen running from the area.Officers were on scene in the Kern River Canyon, about three miles in near Democrat Boat Launch, regarding the investigation around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Kessinger for charges which include homicide and felony child abuse.  Kessinger is described as 6'2", 198 lbs, with blonde hair and green eyes.Investigators said they are continuing their search for Ramon Reyes-Chavez and are asking the public to contact the Bakersfield Police Department (661) 327-7111 with any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Reyes-Chavez or Kessinger.Kessinger was pulled over in 2016 for speeding and was suspected of driving under the influence. He had 6.4 nanograms of marijuana in his system while driving, according to the District Attorney's Office. The case went to trial and was convicted in Dec. 2016, sentenced to four days in prison and granted three years of probation.  1679

Police in Osceola County, Florida said a man was locked up after he was accused of trying to kill sex offenders.Officers said he tried to set the men on fire.Jorge Porto-Sierra has been formally charged with four counts of attempted premeditated murder.Osceola County detectives said the 50-year-old confessed to deputies he tried to kill multiple people at the Friendly Village Inn on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.After his March 7 arrest, Porto-Sierra said he arrived at the motel to "barbecue all the child molesters on fire and kill them."WESH 2 News in Orlando confirmed at least two of the four victims are convicted sexual offenders.Witnesses told deputies Porto-Sierra made several threats, screaming, "I'm going to kill you, child molester," and allegedly began throwing gasoline on their front door.Porto-Sierra is accused of breaking a hotel window to pour gasoline inside.Witnesses said he was carrying a cigarette the whole time.Another couple said Porto-Sierra rammed their car and poured gas on it.When asked by deputies why he did not carry out his threats, Porto-Sierra said, "You got here too soon."Porto-Sierra remains behind bars at the Osceola County Jail.He's being held on no bond.  1219

PALA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A 5-year-old boy critically injured in Saturday’s deadly bus crash was airlifted to a Riverside County hospital Sunday, authorities said. The young boy was airlifted from Inland Valley Medical Center to the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley to be treated for a head injury, California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe said. The boy was among 21 passengers on a charter bus traveling to Tijuana from El Monte. The crash happened on Interstate 15 south of State Route 76. Three women were killed in the crash that left 18 others hospitalized. Five of those injured were taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, five to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and eight to Temecula Valley Hospital, Latulippe said. RELATED: At least three dead, 18 injured in bus rollover on Interstate 15Three passengers suffered major injuries, Latulippe said, and officials were determining the other injured patients' conditions Sunday morning.The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the charter bus owned by Executive Lines Inc. slid off the 15 during heavy rain. The bus then continued down an embankment before landing on its roof, ejecting several passengers. A vehicle inspection report dated November 5, 2019, shows that, as of that date, the windshield wipers were either inoperative or defective. The same report shows that the vehicle had no spare fuses “as required.” A second report of the bus line revealed that 48 percent of vehicles in that particular safety group have better on-road performance. Parts of Hawaii are under a hurricane watch as Category 3 Hurricane Douglas has its sights set on the island state. The hurricane watch is in effect for the Big Island and Maui County.Packing top winds of 115 MPH as of 11 a.m. HT (5 p.m. ET), Douglas is moving toward Hawaii at 18 MPH. The storm was positioned 785 miles from Hilo, or 985 miles from Honolulu.Douglas is relatively small, with hurricane-force winds only extending 25 miles from the center.While the powerful hurricane is in the open ocean, it has been slowly losing strength. The National Hurricane Center projects it will weaken into a tropical storm by Sunday night. But the storm could still be a hurricane when it crosses the island chain, which would make it the first hurricane to directly hit the island in more than two decades.Category 4 Iniki of 1992. was the most recent hurricane to strike Hawaii directly. Police are investigating after an underage girl was reportedly touched inappropriately at a Southwest Key facility in Phoenix. According to the Phoenix Police Department, 32-year-old Fernando Magaz Negrete, who works at the facility was seen by a juvenile witness touching a 14-year-old victim inappropriately on June 27.Court documents say a 16-year-old saw Negrete touching her roommate in their bedroom in June.The witness says she allegedly saw Negrete touching the girl's genitals and kissing her, court documents said. Additionally, Negrete was seen on surveillance video entering the girl's bedroom several times throughout the night.Negrete was contacted by police on Tuesday and made statements regarding his involvement. He was booked into jail on charges of molestation, sexual abuse, and aggravated assault. Arizona Representative Ruben Gallego?wrote a letter on Wednesday, asking for the Department of Health and Human Services' Inspector General to do an investigation of widespread reports of sexual abuse involving migrant children in federal custody. He also asked about their policies and whether they're following childcare regulations.The incidents include physical and sexual abuse suffered by a 6-year-old girl at a Southwest Key facility in Glendale, according to Gallego's office. Tucson police have also investigated multiple molestations at local Southwest Key locations. According to police reports obtained from ProPublica, police investigated molestation claims dating to 2014.Around the country, migrant children have reported abuse, neglect and assault at immigrant detention facilities. The Phoenix Southwest Key facility where Negrete worked is the same location First Lady Melania Trump visited in June.Southwest Key spokesperson Jeff Eller released the following statement on Wednesday: “When a child tells us of inappropriate behavior, we immediately call law enforcement and start an internal investigation as appropriate. That’s what happened in this case. Southwest Key always works with law enforcement to bring the full force of the law to bear when it is warranted.” 2211
