(KGTV) — The 18-year-old girl who pushed her friend off a 60-foot bridge into a Washington state river has been charged with one count of reckless endangerment.Prosecutors filed the charge against Taylor Smith, saying the teen engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death and resulted in serious physical injury to Jordan Holgerson," according to ABC News.Reckless endangerment is a gross misdemeanor in Washington state and punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of ,000.Smith pushed Holgerson off the bridge over the Lewis River at Moulton Falls Regional Park near Vancouver, Wash., on Aug. 7.The fall left Holgerson, 16, with six broken ribs, a punctured lung, and air bubbles in her chest, officials said.Footage showing the fall was captured on cell phone video and soon went viral. A nearby surveillance camera also caught Smith pushing Holgerson over.The teens have given conflicting reports of what led up to the fall.Smith has told authorities that she was trying to help her Holgerson overcome the fear of jumping and that she didn't mean to cause harm. (KGTV) -- With both finalists in the race to become San Diego's next mayor being Democrats, a surprise, late endorsement by the Republican who nearly cracked the top two in the primary could help tip the balance in what appears to be a close election.Over the weekend, City Councilmember Scott Sherman endorsed Assemblymember Todd Gloria over fellow Councilmember Barbara Bry. In a Twitter thread, Sherman stated "After much thought, I can’t in good conscience vote for Barbara Bry. She is inauthentic, inconsistent, and untrustworthy."Sherman went on to say that he had disagreements with Gloria on the issues, but praised him for consistency and authenticity. In an interview with ABC 10News, Gloria said he was grateful for Sherman's endorsement. "Clearly we’re from different political parties and we disagree on many, many issues. But at the end of the day, he’s casting his vote based on character. And what he shared is really meaningful to me.”Bry told ABC 10News she believes Sherman endorsed her opponent because she had defeated him in the primary, as well as in issues two faced together on the council. A 4-year-old girl was left alone inside a minivan overnight in a Milwaukee tow lot, Public Works Commissioner nominee Jeff Polenske said Tuesday at a news conference. Late Monday night, an impaired female driver was pulled over and arrested for an OWI when the vehicle was towed. Officers removed a 10-month-old child from the vehicle, but neglected to remove a 4-year-old girl from the backseat.Polenske said it wasn't until a tow lot employee heard the young girl crying that the girl was removed. Officials towed the car to the lot on around 12:30 a.m. The child was not discovered until around 8:30 a.m. Upon discovery, the child was checked by fire officials for immediate harm and later transported to the hospital for further review. Data from local meteorologists shows temperatures dipped as low as 19 degrees Monday night while the child was in the car.Milwaukee Public Works is reviewing more on the situation.   976
