California marijuana users can now turn to their smartphones to find out if a dispensary is legit.The Bureau of Cannabis Control on Thursday announced a program encouraging licensed cannabis retailers to post QR codes in their store windows. The checkerboard codes can be scanned by a cellphone camera linking the reader to the bureau’s online license bureau.That will allow consumers to verify that the store is licensed.Consumers will be able to determine which retailers ”carry products that are tracked, tested, and legal,” Bureau Chief Lori Ajax said in a statement.Officials said consumers without a QR code-enabled phone can also check a retailer’s license information by visiting the Bureau’s license search tool at 736

Apple is recalling 814,000 wall adapters because they can break and pose an electric shock risk.The recall involves three-prong AC wall adapters included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit. The kits contain three-prong and two-prong AC wall plug adapters that fit different electrical outlets worldwide.The recalled adapters were made for use primarily in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong and were also sold with Mac computers and iOS devices. They were sold online and in electronic stores nationwide from January 2003 through January 2015.The recalled three-prong AC wall plug adapters are white with no letters on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters are white with gray on the inside portion that attaches to the power adapter.Consumers with the adapters should immediately stop using them and contact Apple for a free replacement.Apple has gotten six reports from other countries of wall plug adapters breaking and consumers being shocked. Businesses are making changes to workspaces to bring employees back safely, but there's a question of how much influence they can have over what you're doing outside of work.Some employers are implementing return to work surveys that will ask if you've been around somebody who's been exposed to COVID-19.A St. Louis County executive is pushing for companies there to ask workers if they've been social distancing outside of work, along with others they've been with. This comes after leaders there learned people traveled outside the city over Memorial Day and didn't do this.“The society for human resource management" tells us employers have to be careful,” said Amber Clayton with the Society for Human Resource Management. “It’s not very practical to have an employer actually monitoring someone's social media and you don't want to make an assumption either that someone is not social distancing just because you heard about it or saw it in a picture. They may have been with immediate family members that they've been in the house with for a very long time.”But she says if employers know for a fact you haven't been social distancing and have been exposed to COVID-19, they can require you to work from home or to self-quarantine for 14 days.You may not get paid while you're self-quarantining, though.If your boss asks you what you're doing for the weekend, it's really up to you if you want to share this information.Employers are providing workers with the CDC guidelines about social distancing and wearing masks to keep them safe.
