A 20-year-old Bangladeshi woman gave birth to twins -- 26 days after giving birth to her first child.Arifa Sultana gave birth to a boy in late February, according to Dr. Sheila Poddar, a gynecologist at Ad-Din hospital in Dhaka. After a normal delivery, the mother and baby were released from a different Dhaka hospital. Less than four weeks later, she was admitted to Ad-Din hospital."She came to the hospital complaining of lower abdominal pain," Poddar said. Doctors performed an ultrasound and realized Sultana was pregnant with twins.Sultana had two uteruses, a condition called uterus didelphys. Her first baby and the twins were conceived and grown in separate wombs. She did not get an ultrasound before the first delivery, so it was missed, Poddar said."It is not very common to have two uteruses. When the uterus develops, it comes from two tubes, and those tubes fuse together. For some women, the fusion does not occur, and the dividing wall does not dissolve," said Dr. S.N. Basu, head of obstetrics and gynecology at Max Healthcare hospital in New Delhi.Poddar was able to quickly perform a C-section to deliver twins: a boy and a girl. "All three children are safe and healthy," Poddar said. "The mother is also fine."A uterus didelphys is a rare congenital abnormality, and the occurrence of twin gestation has an overall incidence rate of 1 in a million, according to the National Institutes of Health. For it not to be discovered before the birth is even less common."From rural areas, people don't know what is wrong with them. They don't know how many children they are pregnant with and sometimes whether they are pregnant also," Basu said. 1671

A 30-year-old Honduran man died in ICE custody Sunday in a hospital in Humble, Texas, the agency said.Yimi Alexis Balderramos-Torres entered ICE custody on June 6 and less than two weeks later was transferred to the Houston Contract Detention Facility in Houston, Texas. On June 30, he was found unresponsive in his dormitory and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, ICE said.Balderramos-Torres is the sixth detainee to die in ICE custody since October 1, 2018, the agency said. He is at least the 11th person to die in US custody since September.Balderramos-Torres entered the US illegally on May 27 and was placed in ICE custody on June 6 after a "routine traffic stop" with local law enforcement, ICE said.He had previously tried to enter the country ten days earlier and was returned to Mexico after encountering Border Patrol agents in El Paso, Texas, ICE said.Balderramos-Torres also tried to enter the US in August 2013. He was removed to Honduras that same month, according to the agency."Consistent with the agency's protocols, the appropriate state health and local law enforcement agencies have been notified about this death, as have the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General, and ICE's Office of Professional Responsibility," ICE said. The Consulate of Honduras in Houston has also been notified and Honduran consular officials have notified Balderramos-Torres' next of kin, the agency said.Other detainees to die in ICE custody since November include a 1506

A hotel cook apparently upset over human resources issues has been arrested for allegedly planning a mass shooting of his coworkers and guests at a Marriott property in Long Beach, California, city police said Wednesday.A tip from a colleague led police to arrest Rodolfo Montoya, 37, at his Huntington Beach home, Chief Robert Luna said at a news conference.Police seized firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and tactical gear, including high-capacity magazines and an assault rifle, which are illegal to possess in California, Long Beach Police said in a news release."Suspect Montoya had clear plans, intent, and the means to carry out an act of violence that may have resulted in a mass-casualty incident," Luna said.Montoya will appear in court as early as Thursday, Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokesman Ricardo Santiago said. It was not immediately clear whether Montoya has an attorney. At least 28 people have been arrested over threats to commit mass attacks since massacres this month in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. Just after the shootings, the FBI director issued a directive for agency offices nationwide to conduct a new threat assessment.Montoya doesn't appear to have a criminal history that would prevent him from legally owning the types of guns allowed in California, Luna said.He was booked on manufacturing and distributing assault weapons, possession of an assault weapon and making a criminal threat and is being held on 0,000 bail at the Long Beach City Jail, the news release states. The district attorney's office expects the police department to present its case Thursday, Santiago told CNN. 1662

A 30-year-old Spirit Airlines passenger on a flight from Detroit to New Orleans recently got himself banned for life after deciding to take a smoke break in the plane's bathroom. An attendant on Flight NK 985 told a deputy on Tuesday that she saw him take a drag from an e-cigarette and exhale into a bag, said Jefferson Parish Sheriff's spokesman Capt. Jason Rivarde. She admonished him.The St. Petersburg, Florida, resident then got up and headed for the restroom, according to a report filed with the sheriff's office. While he was in the bathroom, the plane's smoke alarm went off. When a deputy met the plane at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the unidentified passenger denied smoking in the restroom, according to the report. He told a deputy he didn't know smoking was prohibited on flights. The passenger was not arrested but he may never again fly with Spirit: The deputy's report said the company banned him for life."It's a private business that can ban customers at their own leisure," Rivarde said."It's like telling you not to come back to the restaurant. Once he was on the ground, he was cooperative with our deputies so he didn't face any criminal charges."Vaping apparently wasn't his only problem.Another passenger complained to the flight attendant that he had been drinking from bottles of alcohol that he brought on board -- which is also prohibited, according to the sheriff's office.Spirit Airlines has not responded to a request for comment. 1495
