They stood there all night. They never leave him alone,” she said.Samuel Koontz posted on Facebook he has second and third-degree burns to his face but won’t have permanent scars.He wrote the vehicle, also called a Track, “Exploded and the track caught fire, me and my squad exited out multiple ways some being injured more than others. Me and some of my squad mates got out and went back to pull the rest of our brothers out that couldn’t do it for themselves for various reasons.”He also asks people to pray for the Marines still hospitalized and some badly injured.“it’s just kind of a traumatic thing I think when you go through something like that,” J.R. Koontz said. “I believe they put all the guys that were hurt in the accident in the wounded warrior battalion so that gives them time to go over what happened."The Marine Corps is not paying the flights and hotel stays for the families visiting the injured Marines. Officials are looking for the suspect responsible for a deadly stabbing in Phoenix.Phoenix police responded to an alley near 15th and Missouri avenues at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a stabbing. Officers were alerted to the incident after a passerby called 911 about a man stumbling in the roadway. When officers arrived on the scene they found 58-year-old Alfred Brown with multiple stab wounds. He told officers the suspect, a younger Hispanic male, was heavy set and wearing a white shirt. According to police, Brown was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.Brown was a known homeless man who stayed in the area. He was last seen in the area earlier in the day with a Hispanic male who matches the suspect description.   789

One of the two Canadian women who documented a lavish cruise trip to Australia on Instagram as a front for smuggling cocaine has been sentenced to at least four and a half years in prison.Melina Roberge, along with two accomplices, had embarked on a round-the-world cruise, taking in a number of exotic locations, before the 95 kg (210 lb) haul was discovered on their cruise ship when it docked in Sydney.Roberge broke down in tears in the courtroom, according to CNN's Australian affiliate Channel 7."I was meant to just be there and look like I was on holiday and look like a cover for everyone else," the 24-year-old Canadian said at the sentencing hearing."I am really sorry, I should have thought about the consequences and not what I would have gotten for it," she said.Crown prosecutor Tom Muir told the court that she was aware of her role in the crime, and was using it to support her lavish lifestyle."She was not doing it for debt," he said. "It's for the lifestyle she wants to enjoy."At the time, police told CNN affiliate Channel 7 that the seizure was Australia's biggest-ever drug bust through a "passenger stream."Accomplice Isabelle Lagacé, as well as a third Canadian, 63-year-old Andre Tamine, also pleaded guilty to charges of importing drugs of a commercial volume into the country. Legace was sentenced to a similar period in November; Tamine will be sentenced later this year.Roberge and Lagacé appear to have documented much of their trip on Instagram, with a number of photos from exotic locations taken during the period.At least two photos showing them drinking from coconuts while kneeling in the water at a Tahiti beach in bikinis.Others show them driving dune buggies in Peru, while another appears to show Roberge getting a leg tattoo in Tahiti. Lagacé is pictured on her own account wearing a necklace made from beads in the shape of marijuana leaves.The women appear to have also traveled to Bermuda, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia, the posts show.The images have since been removed from the photo-sharing app.Prior to her sentencing, Roberge wrote a letter to the court, explaining that she embarked upon the trip to "take photos of myself in exotic locations for likes and attention, and hurt so many people in the process," Channel 7 reported.Australian Border Force officers boarded the vessel when it berthed in Sydney Harbor in 2016.Authorities used sniffer dogs to search a number of passenger cabins on the ship. Around 95 kilograms of cocaine was found packed in suitcases, it said. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Oceanside could be getting a new active sports complex, complete with a man-made wave pool, perfect for surfing competitions, according to Mayor Peter Weiss. The idea is in it's beginning stages, no formal paperwork has been submitted to the city clerk. 10News spoke with her Wednesday and she said the developer, Zephyer Partners, has been talking with council members.Neighbors have already been hearing construction equipment hacking away at the remains of the drive-in that operated before the swap meet took over."When I was driving by and I saw you standing here I thought I need to find out because she probably knows more than I do," Neighbor Liz Lewellen said.She said the neighborhood has been wondering what could happen to the lot. Mayor Weiss told 10News the developer gave him this pitch, "n active sports complex, there would be a BMX track, a climbing wall, things like that, it would also have a hotel and then sports oriented retail." He also described a wave pool that mimics the Kelly Slater Surf Ranch in Fresno. The facility is state-of-the-art and perfect for competitions.The idea sparking interest in the community. Lewellen was shocked and excited when she heard."I love the idea that it's commercial coming in because this area desperately needs more restaurants more things," Lewellen said. "So that's really exciting, I know that we have the skate park up the street and that's been a god send for the kids and the active people in the neighborhood."Thursday Zephyr Partners will host a community workshop at Saint Mary Star of the Sea School from 6-8 p.m."It's something unique, I think I'd like to actually see the plans what they're proposing," Weiss said.When asked if Lewellen would try out the wave pool, "I've always wanted to learn how to surf," she said laughing, "so maybe, we'll see, if it's the perfect wave, maybe someone can train me how to perfectly get up on the board."Lewellen had one concern though, wondering how traffic would affect her drive to and from home.Zephyr Partners did not respond to 10News's request for comment.
