LOS ANGELES (AP) — The FBI is looking for three suspects who kidnapped a Chinese man after a business meeting in the Los Angeles area last month, but authorities haven't heard from the kidnappers since they demanded a million ransom and the man remains missing, investigators said Monday.Ruochen "Tony" Liao, 28, was abducted by three men on July 16 in San Gabriel — about 10 miles (16 kilometers) east of downtown Los Angeles — according to Gene Kowel, an assistant special-agent-in-charge at the FBI's office in Los Angeles.Liao, who owns a Southern California car dealership that sold high-end cars, such as Porches and Bentleys, had just finished an evening meeting with several business associates when three men pulled up in two vehicles — a Toyota minivan and a Range Rover — and abducted him, officials said.After they kidnapped him, the abductors contacted Liao's family and demanded that they pay a million ransom, but the money was not paid, Kowel said.On Monday, the FBI released a sketch of one of the men they believe was involved in the kidnapping, who they suspect may have been an acquaintance of Liao. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fire early Friday destroyed a Southern California distribution facility that was used to ship items to Amazon customers. Authorities said employees got out and there were no reports of injuries. The fire briefly closed a nearby freeway as flames shot high into the air. The fire started around 5 a.m. Friday in Redlands, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The flames that engulfed the structure spread to some of the many truck trailers parked at loading docks. The facility was operated by a global logistics company that was dedicated to Amazon. A spokesperson said customer orders will be filled from other sites. 647

LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors say two men and two teens have been charged in the death of rising rapper Pop Smoke, who was killed during a Los Angeles home-invasion robbery in February. Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement Monday that Corey Walker and Keandre Rodgers were charged with murder that occurred during the commission of a robbery and burglary. The two male teens were also charged with murder and robbery in juvenile court. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Four people were wounded, one fatally, when gunfire erupted Tuesday morning at a large party taking place at a mansion north of Beverly Hills where police had earlier responded to multiple calls of disturbing the peace.Firefighters and paramedics sent to the 13200 block of Mulholland Drive about 12:45 a.m. located three adults who had been wounded, and they were treated at the scene, then taken to a hospital, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department. A fourth person was found nearby with an injury to his wrist, Prange said, adding the victim's injury was not caused by gunfire.One shooting victim was hospitalized in grave condition and the other two were hospitalized in critical condition, Prange said.A woman about 35 years of age died at a hospital, said Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Chris Ramirez. Information was not immediately available on her identity.Ramirez said the other two shooting victims found at the scene were males, and they were displaying stable vital signs Tuesday morning.A woman who also had been shot went to a hospital in a private vehicle, and was in stable condition, Ramirez said.Ramirez said the crime apparently was gang-related, and no arrests have been reported.
