(KGTV) - The daughter of PGA star Phil Mickelson will make her acting debut in a movie partially shot in San Diego.Sophia Mickelson has a featured role in Ruta Madre, a coming of age story about a singer who discovers his family and roots on a road trip through Baja.According to the movie's website, Ruta Madre deals with issues of self-identity in a bi-national region."It reflects the feeling of many Latinos, especially Mexicans, who have emigrated or were born here, but who have not they feel neither from here nor from there,” director and screenwriter Agustín Casta?eda said in a 2016 interview.Mickelson plays "Daisy," the lead character's childhood crush. (KGTV) — A suspected drunk driver nearly hit several beach-goers Sunday, before his SUV ended up in the ocean.The driver, identified as 50-year-old Jorge Mosti, was driving in the 1600 block of Seacoast Dr. just after 6:30 p.m., when witnesses say his SUV left the roadway and onto the beach, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.As he continued onto the beach, SDSO said Mosti nearly hit several people as he drove about a mile down the beach. His vehicle ended came to a stop partially submerged on IB's coastline.Mosti reportedly then jumped out of the vehicle and started walking toward Tijuana. He made it about half a mile before deputies caught up to him. (KGTV) - 40 undocumented immigrants were arrested at two human smuggling houses in South San Diego County Monday, according to Customs and Border Protection officials.Border Patrol agents received information Monday afternoon that immigrants were being housed at the Serenaded apartments on Elder Ave. in Imperial Beach.Upon entry into a unit, agents found 22 Mexican nationals hiding inside, officials said. A second search led to the discovery of 18 more immigrants.Three dozen men between 16 and 49 years old and four women, ages 24 to 46, were taken into custody.One of the men is a previously deported felon with convictions for domestic violence, agents said.“Identifying and dismantling smuggling organizations is our top priority,” said Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S.
