SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A previously-deported sex offender who tried to enter the U.S. illegally was arrested Sunday by Border Patrol agents.On July 5 around 1:30 a.m., agents patrolling the U.S./Mexico border near Tecate saw three people enter the U.S. illegally, the agency said.All three men were arrested and, after fingerprinting all three, a records check revealed that one of the men, a 33-year-old Mexican national, had been convicted for sex crimes against a child.According to the agency, the man had been convicted in 2006 of lewd acts upon a child and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was removed from the U.S. in 2014.The man is currently being held in federal custody pending charges for felony illegal re-entry after deportation, Border Patrol says. 771

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man who was injured in a fire above a business near Belmont Park in Mission Beach has died.The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office announced the death of 36-year-old Aaron Porter, Wednesday evening.For the last 20 years, Richard Ghozul has worked at Kojack's Greek and American Food, and has lived in the upstairs apartment. Tuesday morning at around 6 AM, the 70-year-old was fast asleep until flames began crackling above his ceiling. “My apartment [is] gone, everything," Ghozul said. With the help of a lifeguard who ran into the apartments, Ghozul barely made it out alive. But Aaron Porter, the man who just moved in next door, did not. According to the County Medical Examiner, Aaron Porter died at UCSD Medical Center after suffering major thermal injuries.“He is always busy. He works on the fishing boat," Ghozul remembered of Porter. “I’m very sad for him.  Too much smoke happened to him.”Early mornings and late nights, Porter worked at Aztec Sportfishing. According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened in a northbound lane of the 15 near El Cajon Boulevard around 5 a.m. A sig alert was issued shortly after as CHP responded to the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A power outage affected thousands San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the Ocean Beach area and SeaWorld late Friday.The outage was reported just before 4 p.m. It wasn't immediately clear what led to the outage.SeaWorld said the power outage was short lived and only affected the central and west areas of the theme park. No guests were trapped on any rides or injured and all animals were okay, according to the park.UPDATED TRAFFIC CONDITIONSThe outage also hit a portion of San Diego International Airport. Officials say power has since been restored but had affected Terminal 2 and the Rental Car Center.In total, about 15,000 customers have been affected, according to the power company.
