The sixth summit of the BRICS, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, will be held in Brazil from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Xi will visit the four countries at the invitation of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Raul Castro, president of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba.

Since its inception, the grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa has been guided by the overarching objectives of peace, security, development and cooperation, they noted in a declaration following their sixth summit in this Brazilian city.

"President Xi attaches great importance to the relations of the two countries, which I am very pleased to see," said Elbegdorj in an interview with Chinese journalists just ahead of President Xi's state visit. "I expressed my thanks to him for his sincere and pragmatic perspective when dealing with Mongolia-China relationship."

Special envoy Wu Sike said China is deeply concerned about the escalating conflict between the two sides, which should be resolved through peace talks.
