(KGTV) — A suspected drunk driver nearly hit several beach-goers Sunday, before his SUV ended up in the ocean.The driver, identified as 50-year-old Jorge Mosti, was driving in the 1600 block of Seacoast Dr. just after 6:30 p.m., when witnesses say his SUV left the roadway and onto the beach, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.As he continued onto the beach, SDSO said Mosti nearly hit several people as he drove about a mile down the beach. His vehicle ended came to a stop partially submerged on IB's coastline.Mosti reportedly then jumped out of the vehicle and started walking toward Tijuana. He made it about half a mile before deputies caught up to him. IMPERIAL BEACH (KGTV) — Some South Bay parents are upset after they say their elementary school abruptly canceled an annual Christmas tradition out of deference to families who do not observe the holiday.For years, students at Oneonta Elementary School in Imperial Beach had a December assembly featuring Christmas decorations, Christmas songs and a visit from Santa.This year’s December assembly was held Friday without a Christmas show. Teachers learned of the change Wednesday, according to 6th grade parent Jose Cariman.“No notice to the parents. No notice to the teachers, no advance notice for anything,” he said. “What are they teaching [the students]? (KGTV) - The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a residential burglary that happened in the overnight to early hours on Wednesday.The break-in happened at a house on Date Avenue.According to residents someone broke into their house and stole several items while they were asleep. Taryn Williamson, who lives in the home, said the thief must have gone into their room because she noticed her purse, her boyfriend’s phone, and a Nintendo Switch gaming system, were missing.  All were on a table in their bedroom.Her purse had 0 in cash as well as credit cards.
