VISTA (KGTV) — A driver accused of crossing into wrong-way traffic and killing an Escondido cyclist turned to a witness after the crash and said, “I’m sorry,” before speeding off, according to court testimony Tuesday.Jamison Connor, 41, appeared in a Vista courtroom for a preliminary hearing on several charges. (KGTV) - Kellen Winslow Jr. affirmed his innocence to 10News Thursday as he appeared in court to face a third charge of rape.The son of a Chargers legend, Winslow pleaded not guilty to the alleged rape a 17-year old girl in 2003.  10News was able to capture a few words with Winslow as he walked to his car in the parking lot outside court. When reporter Jim Patton asked about the new rape charge, Winslow responded it would all come out in court. Then asked if he was innocent of the other allegations of raping two women in Encinitas, Winslow said, "I'm advised by my lawyer to not speak on much. But yes, I am innocent." The new charge involves a woman who was 17 years old at the time. Winslow was 19. She claims he raped her while she was unconscious. Winslow Jr.'s attorney has previously said their relationship was consensual.  Thursday, the defense repeated a request for the woman's psychological history.Thursday's court hearing lasted no more than 15 minutes as attorneys debated whether this new case should be tried along with the other two rape allegations. Winslow Jr.'s attorneys argued the new charge could prejudice the other two.The judge allowed the cases to remain joined for now for efficiency but said the trial judge would make the ultimate decision.  Winslow is currently free on a million bond, while required to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. His trial date was set for March 19th, 2019. 1507

Walt Disney World is not reopening its Polynesian Village Resort until next summer."Due to ongoing refurbishments at the Great Ceremonial House, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until summer 2021," the company said on the resort's website. "The monorail service to this resort will be temporarily suspended beginning in early October 2020."The Beach Club Resort and BoardWalk Inn will remain closed "until further notice," the company added."Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet," the company said on its website. VISTA (CNS) - A man who fired a BB gun at an Oceanside business that had put up a sign supporting the Black Lives Matter movement pleaded guilty today to charges of violating civil rights by damaging property and vandalism.Steve Soto, 23, of Carlsbad, is slated to be sentenced Sept. 28 to one year in county jail stemming from the June 4 shooting that shattered a window at Bliss Tea & Treats.Oceanside police Sgt. John McKean said Soto drove by the business, then fired a BB gun out the window of his vehicle.The business had a sign in the window at the time that read: "Black owned, we stand with you," McKean said.The sergeant said surveillance video helped detectives identify the vehicle used in the crime, leading to Soto's arrest on July 15.He also pleaded guilty to an assault charge related to a May 28 incident involving a male victim and a misdemeanor vandalism count related to an unspecified July 4 incident.He was facing a hate crime allegation stemming from the Bliss Tea & Treats shooting and other misdemeanor charges of discharging a BB gun in a grossly negligent manner stemming from unspecified incidents occurring in June and July, but those counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. 1232
