SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 59-year-old woman suffered a fractured back when she was struck by a hit-and-run motorist in the Clairemont Mesa West community of San Diego, a police officer said Sunday.The woman was crossing westbound in the south crosswalk when she was hit a little before 6:25 p.m. Saturday by a vehicle that had been going westbound on Derrick Drive and made a left turn to southbound Genesee Avenue, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.Police had no description of the vehicle or the motorist. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 43-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday morning with serious injuries after the car he was riding in crashed into four parked cars on a Mountain View street, police said.It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on South 40th Street just south of Imperial Avenue, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.A 38-year-old man was driving a 2005 Honda Civic southbound on South 40th Street when the car drifted to the right for unknown reasons and struck four parked cars, Heims said.The 43-year-old man, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Honda, was taken to a hospital for treatment of a fractured neck, which was not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.The Honda driver was uninjured and 31-year-old man in the back seat of the sedan had a complaint of pain to his leg, Heims said. 847

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 17-year-old from San Diego driving a vehicle police suspected to be stolen was shot by a detective during a traffic stop, Hemet police said Saturday.Detectives with the department's Crime Suppression Unit conducted the traffic stop at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North San Jacinto Street, Lt. Jeff Davis said."Detectives transitioned to a high risk stop after a records check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen from the San Diego area. An officer involved shooting occurred during the stop," Davis said.The San Diego teen was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and later released to his guardian after receiving treatment, according to the news release.It was unclear what led to the shooting, and a call to Davis by a reporter Saturday morning was not returned.No officers were injured in the encounter, and an investigation was ongoing. 910
