(KGTV) — Thick smoke and ash spewing from the Holy Fire scorching Orange and Riverside counties have prompted air quality warnings in the area.Riverside County officials issued the warning Wednesday for "unhealthy air quality levels" in the county due to the fire. A 14-year-old student at Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven, Michigan was suspended and then faced expulsion after reporting a possible threat to the app OK2SAY.The teen's 10-day suspension ended on Monday night, with an expulsion hearing in front of the school board.  Dozens of supporters showed up with signs.The hearing lasted nearly six hours, with attorneys on both sides questioning school administrators, the school resource officer and the boy's parents. The ninth-grader used the app to anonymously report that he overheard someone saying they were going to shoot up the school. The FBI was able to identify the teen, according to attorney Calvin Luker who now represents the teen's family as they fight to stop the school board from expelling him. While Joseph McDonald, principal of Anchor Bay High School, said he cannot comment on a student's discipline, he said, in general, action can be taken against a student who knowingly reports false information. The teen has not been charged with any crime, and Saint Clair County Sheriff investigators say there was not enough evidence to obtain charges against the person who reportedly made the threat.Luker said the teen thought he was doing the right thing by reporting what he overheard, but instead of being praised for his bravery, the teen was suspended for ten days. The school board unanimously decided to dismiss the expulsion, but recommended law enforcement review the original threat.   1543

Disney is honoring the milestone with “The Haunted Mansion: Celebrating 50 Years of Retirement Unliving.” The after-hours events will include special entertainment, character encounters, photo opportunities, themed food and drinks, unique merchandise, and what Disney describes as “a few supernatural surprises.” Event highlights include: *A 13th Hour Celebration kick-off along the Rivers of America. The “Swinging Wake” will feature Madame Leota of crystal ball fame conjuring the festivities. *Themed backdrops for photos with unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass pictures. *Limited-time Snapchat filters and event hashtags. *After-hours access to select attractions New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Frontierland and Adventureland. Homebuyers who purchased their properties 20 years ago are “sitting pretty” in 2019, according to a study by GOBankingRates. The study ranked 15 California cities by property appreciation rates. Six of the top 10 increases were in the San Francisco area. Two Los Angeles-area cities, Santa Monica and Newport Beach, finished first and second on the list, respectively. The only San Diego County city on the list of top 20 locations for home appreciation was Encinitas. In 1999, the median home value in Encinitas was 3,500. The figure now stands at ,198,000, marking a 248.8 percent increase in value over 20 years, the study reports. The five-year rental income on an Encinitas home is 9,688, according to the study.
