The times right now.”The killing of George Floyd, he says, is a response to the question he first posed – “Is it because I'm Black?”It is in the face of renewed examinations of race in America and calls for justice that Johnson is hopeful.“The younger whites and the younger Blacks should make it happen,” he said. “When they join together to make it happen, this world will be a beautiful place.”And one day he hopes the question won’t need to be asked. 1988

CAMPO (CNS) - At least one person was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening on Route 94 in Campo, according to the California Highway Patrol.The crash took place on Route 94 -- Campo Road -- at the intersection with Sheridan Road about 7 p.m., the CHP reported.The person's name was withheld pending family notification. There's no word yet on the gender or age of the victim. No information on other injuries was immediately available.At least one dog was also injured in the crash, the CHP said. Three others were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.Campo Road was temporarily closed at 9:55 p.m. for the crash and death investigation. The roadway was reopened about 11:05 p.m., the CHP said.Campo is a small town in the southeastern portion of San Diego County. 799

CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) — An East County resident happened upon a massive surprise Friday morning.A wayward tortoise was found by the resident on Buckman Springs Rd. in Campo Friday. A San Diego County Department of Animal Serivces officer responded to the report but immediately realized he would not be able to lift the animal on his own.A Cal Fire crew arrived to help get the tortoise out of the yard, coaxing it onto a stretcher and then lifting the heavy reptile into an Animal Services vehicle.The tortoise was then taken to the department's Bonita shelter.While it's unclear how the massive animal ended up in the East County yard, Animal Services said someone called soon after the catch to report it may have been their tortoise, aptly named "Tank." (KGTV) — This month, Legoland California will celebrate its 20th birthday with new entertainment, desserts, and a special deal for youngsters.On March 20, Legoland will celebrate its birthday by giving one special park-goer, who is also celebrating his or her birthday, the chance to open the park for the day. The first 1,000 kids in the park will also get free child-size minifigure hands and get to attend a birthday-themed park opening ceremony.At the center of the party will stand a Lego birthday cake consisting of more than 51,000 Lego bricks, showcasing the attractions added to the park since it opened in 1999.The festivities continue all year long, with special birthday desserts, pop badges, and more for park guests.
