Florida Panhandle officials are trying to figure out how to resume classes after Hurricane Michael damaged or destroyed many schools last week.Schools in at least eight counties -- Washington, Liberty, Jackson, Gulf, Gadsden, Franklin, Calhoun and Bay -- will remain closed until further notice, the office of Gov. Rick Scott said Monday in a news release.The challenge is especially daunting in Bay County."I would say every single school in Bay County has some type of damage, some more extensive than others," said Steve Moss, vice chairman of Bay District School Board. "Some it'll probably take weeks or months to get online. Some it will take years."The only thing left of some of our schools ... is the foundation."Moss said he and his colleagues are working to come up with a plan to get thousands of students back in the classroom as soon as possible."We basically have 26,000 students here in Bay County," he said. "They still need educational services. They still need to learn."High school seniors have been told they will be able to graduate, Moss said. FORT MYERS, Fla. - The headmaster of Evangelical Christian School sent an email saying a teacher was fired after admitting sexual misconduct with a student. The email said a female upper school teacher has had her position terminated, effective immediately. Deputies arrested 35-year-old Suzanne Owens, charging her with custodial sexual battery, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said. Now, Baby Yoda is sharing the force with firefighters around the western U.S. and bringing smiles to thousands of fans.Carver told his grandmother he wanted to do something to help those on the front lines of the deadly wildfires. Firefighters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are currently battling a massive warehouse fire at a plant that manufactures plastics.According to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, the massive fire is burning at a Poly-America warehouse in Grand Prarie, Texas. The company makes several products out of polyethylene plastic, including construction film and trash bags.According to the Star-Telegram, the fire was first reported at about midnight local time. A collapsed power line may be responsible for starting the fire.The fire has also spread to a nearby railroad car, which was full of paint products.The Grand Prarie Fire Department has asked those nearby to avoid the area.There are no initial reports of injuries. 719
