But it's the weird wonderful backstory that is so unforgettable. Alicia D'Amico and Rowena Merritt were preparing their Temple Terrace, Florida, home for the arrival of a foster child.They were on a local Buy Nothing Project Facebook page giving away free items from their house when they saw something interesting.A daughter, whose father had recently died from COVID-19, was giving away his impressive collection of Halloween decorations.They didn't know Bob Moyer or his family, but Alicia and Rowena love Halloween.Fans of the macabre holiday have each other's backs."We wanted to be able to carry on Bob's tradition, and bring his items to our home," says D'Amico, who also bought some new goodies of her own."Oh, it's a lot," laughs Merritt at the now-massive display. So this year's Halloween spectacle is in memory of Bob. A California man returned to the scene of the crime earlier this week to apologize for what he allegedly did. According to KOVR-TV, Derek German was charged with receiving stolen property.The outlet obtained security camera footage of German returning to a convenience store to apologize for breaking into the store a week earlier.Before the apology, German allegedly broke into the store and entered through the store’s ceiling. He then attempted to reach the safe, but was unsuccessful. The man set off the store’s alarm system, allowing for the shop’s owner to alert the police.Monitoring the incident on camera, the owner was able to help police track down the suspect.He then returned and attempted to shake the owner’s hand, but the owner refused. 777

A group surrounded and attacked an NYPD officer in Lower Manhattan, police said Thursday. Pictures released from the May 28 attack at Albany Street and West Avenue show two men accused in the attack. One man pushed the 37-year-old officer to the ground and punched him in the face. The second man repeatedly struck the officer with his skateboard. Police said the officer was treated for a bloody nose along with bruising and pain to the head and shoulder.
