If you've heard Grace sing, it's easy to understand why she placed 3rd in Coronado's Got Talent and has been called on to sing at major events."I sung for the state of the city address, for the mayor and for the concert in the park," Grace said. "Excited beyond excited," she said being chosen to ride on the float is like winning the lottery.She's always loved music, "well when I was a baby you know I would just tap on keyboards, but ever since I can remember I've been doing something with music," saying it opens up a whole new world. Grace has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia since birth. She explains her optic nerve connecting her eyes to her brain is too thin, only allowing some light in.Which means instead of seeing her living room, "it's very like blurred and messed up but hey at least I can kinda see." Her ever sunny disposition reflected by her drive to push past obstacles."My motto is disabled can do anything even though they may not be able to see hear walk talk or feel, they can use other methods to help them get through challenges," encouraging anyone to do what they love and let nothing get in their way.Those same challenges daunting for her family. "When I was born, it's kind of natural if you've never met a blind person and you hear that your daughter's blind, you're going to get a little scared. So my mom went to the Braille Institute and met this wonderful blind person... She showed mom how the blind can do anything," she said tearing up.When asked if she was getting emotional, she said yes, "I'm thinking about how awesome the Rose Bowl Parade is going to be, how wonderful my life is, and how awesome my mom is to like be there for me and help me out."Grace thinks it's amazing how technology has enhanced the lives of visually impaired people, and that's part of the reason she wants to be a computer programmer.The Braille Institute will celebrate their centennial in 2019. 2253

CLEVELAND, Ohio - We’re a little over a month away from Thanksgiving and health officials are more concerned than ever thinking about spiking coronavirus cases as families may be planning to gather for the holiday.“We had seen a decrease in cases from our peak, of course, which was in July and we were down into the 40s per day of receiving cases until the mid-last week. Then it started to go up from there," said Romona Brazile, Interim Co-Director of Prevention and Wellness Services at Cuyahoga County Board of Health. "Of course, we want to see our families, but limiting the number of people, still trying to practice social distancing even if it is in your own home, still wearing a mask."Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease agrees. His own family is now sacrificing not seeing each other as his children worry about his age and possible exposure to the virus.“Don't assume that because you're in your own home with your own family that you're not going to spread infection,” he said.Even traveling to see our families is risky. Dr. Fauci said travel on planes and public transportation could increase exposure to the virus.Instead, the CDC is offering up some suggestions on ways you can still have a holiday celebration with friends and family while being safe.The agency said celebrating virtually is your best bet, but if you do meet up in person make sure you stay outside as much as possible and avoid crowds. The CDC also said gatherings with more preventive measures in place pose less risk compared to gatherings with fewer or no preventive measures at all.After any holiday celebrations, you should stay at home as much as possible, avoid crowds and those considered at risk. COLUMBUS, Indiana — A father found mold in a Capri Sun pouch last month that he was going to give his child. Cameron Hardwick, of Columbus, Indiana, posted a video of the discovery in the Capri Sun pouch on Sept. 24. He was going to give the Capri Sun to his 3-year-old child, and he found that one pouch was lighter and different than others.Hardwick cut the pouch open and poured it into a glass, where some kind of mold was visible. His post has more than 21 million views, and 88,000 shares on Facebook. "To say we are irate would be an understatement... we don't give these to our children often but will NEVER again!" Hardwick wrote. After the video was posted, he contacted Kraft and somebody picked up the pouch. Kraft recently contacted him to tell him it was mold, caused by a micropuncture.A search of "Capri Sun Mold" shows many other parents with similar issues of mold in Capri Sun pouches.On Capri Sun's website, the company has a Frequently Asked Questions section about mold. It says, in part: 1053
