(KGTV) — Deputies are investigating a use of force incident Thursday after a suspect stopped breathing after being restrained for reportedly biting a deputy.San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call at about 4:30 a.m. at the Circle K convenience store at Old Highway 395 and Highway 76.Upon arriving, deputies said they encountered a man behaving erratically. Deputies said they asked him several times to leave the property and he then swung at them, prompting an altercation.An SDSO detective said the suspect bit a deputy in the web of the hand, badly enough that the deputy has to get stitches.After biting the deputy, the man was placed in a full body restraint and loaded him into an ambulance, according to SDSO. No firearms were discharged.Officials say while the suspect was in paramedic's care, he stopped breathing. BONSALL (CNS) - A motorcycle and a body were found in the bushes off Old River Road underneath the state Route 76 bridge Sunday.At 2:23 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers requested the San Diego County Medical Examiner to meet them at the scene of an apparent traffic collision, which may have happened earlier Sunday morning, according to a CHP incident log.The officers said the motorcycle was found about 45 feet down, in the bushes.No further information on the incident was immediately available. 515

(KGTV) - Hundreds of animals evacuated due to the Valley Fire are staying at county shelters.The San Diego County Department of Animal Services and the San Diego Humane Society are working together to rescue animals and care for them until they can be reunited with their owners.Nearly 300 pets and livestock are currently staying at the San Diego County of Department of Animal Services shelter in Bonita and the Iron Oak Canyon Ranch on Campo Road in Spring Valley.All horses should be brought to the Lakeside Rodeo Arena.Alma Pereda brought her dogs to the shelter in Bonita after the hotel she was evacuated to did not accept pets."Pretty hectic trying to get what we can, rescue first your family and then your pets," Pereda.Kelly Campbell is the director of the county's Department of Animal Services."We're working to try to support folks do have teams out in the field who are scouting in areas that may have been inaccessible for evacuations, welfare checks on animals, "said Campbell.They're also trying to balance the needs of pet owners with the requirements of the pandemic."They love their animals, want to come and see them, but need to make sure not in closed quarters due to COVID," said Campbell.Household pets are still being accepted at the shelter in Bonita, but it's at capacity for large animals. BROWN COUNTY, Ind. -- More than 100 birds were removed from a Brown County, Indiana home Wednesday morning after a months-long investigation into a potential cockfighting ring. The Indiana Gaming Commission assisted in serving two search warrants. The investigation has been going on since October 2017 after detectives were given a "derby sheet" that listed the entire cockfighting season with dates, registration fees and potential payouts, a spokesperson from the Indiana Gaming Commission said. The birds were seized by the ASPCA. Three people have been taken into custody and booked into the Brown County Jail.Mark Herrin, Darina Herrin, and Randall Herrin all face felony charges of purchasing an animal for use in an animal fighting contest and promoting an animal fighting contest. Law enforcement in Kentucky is also involved in the investigation. 899
