GUIYANG, June 18 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping told villagers in southwest province of Guizhou that "poverty is nothing to fear" during a tour of the province which ended on Thursday.
Xi suggested that China and India, both as staunch supporters and active builders of the BRICS mechanism, work together to forge a closer, more comprehensive and firmer partnership within the emerging-market framework, so as to enable the BRICS countries to play a positive and constructive role and contribute more to world peace and development.

"We are confident that the government can ward off any regional or systemic risks in the economy and ensure we have an open, transparent, stable and healthy capital market," said the premier.
