KILLEEN, Texas -- Police in Texas have arrested nine people, including three in the military, in a child prostitution sting.On Saturday, the Killeen Police Department Special Victim’s Unit in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety Human Trafficking Program, concluded the two-day sting.The overall goal of the joint effort was to locate and arrest subjects who were willing to make overt efforts to pay minors to engage in sexual acts.During the operation, nine suspects, three of whom are in the military, contacted officers through various social media platforms and made agreements for sexual acts with girls they believed were 15 or 16 years of age, according to police.The agreements were for fees that included money, drugs, and/or alcohol.The suspects were apprehended without incident when they arrived at a predetermined location.The operation concluded with seven felony prostitution charges, two misdemeanor prostitution charges, and two guns were confiscated.The suspects arrested are listed below:Anthony Xavier Antwon, 25, of Fort Hood, Felony Prostitution under 18Javier Perez, 40, of Austin, Felony Prostitution under 18Brian Harley Flynn, 21, of Temple, Felony Prostitution under 18Brandon Anthony Lee, 25, of Killeen, Felony Prostitution under 18Dustin Edward Johnson, 42, of Lott, Felony Prostitution under 18Timmy Jones Jr., 30, of Fort Hood, Felony Prostitution under 18Shaun Paul Moore, 39, of Kempner, Felony Prostitution under 18Rakeem Jamal Nelson, 28, of Killeen, Class A ProstitutionPierre Jean, 32, of Killeen, Class A ProstitutionThe Killeen Police Department would like to remind citizens, “If you see something, say something.” Please report any suspicious activity involving human trafficking to your local 9-1-1 emergency center.This story was originally published by Thalia Brionez at KXXV. 1848

LA JOLLA (CNS) - A 31-year-old woman was hospitalized this morning with a fractured neck sustained in a two-vehicle crash at a La Jolla intersection.The woman was driving a 2015 Toyota Prius eastbound in the 8500 block of Whale Watch Way at 4:15 p.m. Friday when she ran a stop sign at Prestwick Drive and made a left turn where a 44-year-old man driving a 2018 Chevy Traverse northbound on Prestwick Drive broadsided the woman's car, according to Officer John Buttle with the San Diego Police Department.The woman was taken to a hospital with a fractured neck, police said. Alcohol was considered a factor in the crash. No arrests were reported. 654

(KGTV) — An East County couple who lost their home in the Valley Fire is dreaming of a rebuild and a new, fireproof home.Earlier this month, Irving and Anita Beeman shot cellphone video of the imposing smoke plumes behind their home on West Boundary Truck Trail. It didn’t take long for the fast-moving flames of the Valley Fire to reach a nearby canyon."Just like a waterfall, it was a 'firefall' down the hill. Amazing and scary," said Irving.Anita left first. Irving got out soon after, after loading up a truck bed full of belongings. He took a photo showing his property, as it began burning."My house was there and then it turned orange. Then it was a yellow ball just slightly bigger than a house. I didn’t have the heart to look back, so I just drove away," said Irving.But there was no escaping the charred reality when the couple returned. Their home of 20 years, along with two vehicles, were destroyed by the fire."Defeated. You look at it and go, 'Where do we start?'" asked Anita.They’ve just started the cleanup process, expected to take months. Their home was insured, and the couple is already envisioning the rebuild and a fire-resistant home."I don’t ever want to see my house burn down again," said Irving.Irving has sketched out this drawing of a fire-resistant home."Half of it will be in a hillside on our property. Laguna and temperatures below freezing Tuesday.Tom is a co-owner of Laguna Mountain Lodge co-owner.  He told 10News, "Well, it got really cold, dropped down to about 22 and wind was just howlin' and then I got up about 5 this morning and the wind had died and there was a coating of snow; beautiful."It hasn't been exceptionally busy at the lodge; it usually takes a heavier snowfall to bring the crowds.It's also dangerous, he told us."It was pretty icy this morning; the roads were real bad."
