SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego FBI agents are asking the public for help find a suspect who robbed a bank in the College Area Wednesday.The man, described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s and standing about 6-feet tall, entered a Union Bank branch in the 6000 block of El Cajon Blvd. at about 11 a.m. Investigators say the man handed a teller a demand note and received an undisclosed amount of cash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Residents may be seeing Uber delivery drones in San Diego's skies as soon as this year.Uber Elevate, Uber's drone and air transportation leg, announced this week during the Forbes’ 30 under 30 Summit that the company will begin testing Uber Eats delivery drones in summer 2020. The company added, though, that delivery service using partner drone operators could come in the coming months.A rendering of the Uber Eats drone shows six-rotors will allow the drone to take off and land vertically, with the ability to rotate to provide more lift and speed. The drone is designed to carry a meal for two people.Uber Elevate says the drone is designed to travel a total of 18 miles or 12 miles round-trip. The company says the drone is equipped to cruise below 400 feet and comply with existing regulations to operate the aircraft.The company estimates the drone can perform a delivery in eight minutes, including time to load and unload.The company says the design has passed the design review phase and is expected to fly before the end of the year. 1073

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police officers were forced to abandon a pursuit Tuesday after learning a child was in the suspect's vehicle.The pursuit began after the suspect rear-ended an SDPD vehicle along 17th Street downtown around 1 p.m., according to police. The officer in the vehicle hit was fine.Police pursued the driver but terminated the pursuit after learning a child was in the car.SDPD ran the suspect's plates and found the vehicle was also stolen. During the pursuit, the suspect's vehicle collided with at least one other vehicle - losing the front right tire.No injuries were reported.The vehicle was abandoned in the 1300 block of Angelus Ave. in Lemon Grove. Police have yet to locate the suspect.The owner of the vehicle told 10News the car was stolen from Lakeside two days ago. He said he and his 12-year-old son worked on the vehicle as a project together. 943

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Resources are available throughout San Diego County for victims of domestic violence who believe their situation may turn life threatening.“There’s nothing more tragic than this happening. This is exactly what we never want to see happen again,” said Heather Finlay with the YWCA. Finlay says she was devastated after learning of the mother and her children killed over the weekend. YWCA offers an emergency shelter and transitional housing for parents and families dealing with domestic violence. According to SANDAG, in 2018, more than 17,000 domestic violence incidents were reported in San Diego County. “Leaving an intimate partnership is never easy especially if there are children involved,” said Yvette Lopez-Cooper with the San Diego Family Justice Center. The order doesn’t become active until the abuser is served and made aware of the action. “Many times, these court orders do work and the violent behaviors stops. A safety care plan includes having a packed bag somewhere safe with clothes and copies of personal documents and planning an escape route.
