For the first time in 78 years, the Rose Bowl will not be played in Pasadena, California.Over the weekend, it was announced that the College Football Playoff semifinal game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Notre Dame would be relocated from the Rose Bowl to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, due to California's ban on fans being allowed at live sporting events during the coronavirus pandemic.CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock made the announcement Saturday in a press release after the Tournament of Roses.Hancock said the committee mutually agreed to relocate the game to the Dallas Cowboys home stadium amid rising cases of COVID-19 in Southern California."We know that the decision was not an easy one to make," said David Eads, Tournament of Roses CEO and Executive Director. "While we remain confident that a game could have been played at the Rose Bowl Stadium, as evident in the other collegiate and professional games taking place in the region, the projection of COVID-19 cases in the region has continued on an upward trend."According to the press release, the State of California would not make a notable exception for player guests at the game, requesting in November and December that the state create a "special exception" to allow players' parents to attend the game. Both requests were denied.According to the Associated Press, this will be the first time in 78-straight years that the Rose Bowl will not be played in Pasadena.According to the press release, it hasn't been determined if the semifinal game will be called the Rose Bowl because the City of Pasadena owns the game's rights. 1619

For 11 days, as a series of women testified that Bill Cosby had drugged and sexually assaulted them, the comedian's wife, Camille, stayed away. But on Tuesday, she made her first appearance as his lawyers presented closing arguments in Cosby's retrial on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Camille Cosby, in a flowing orange-and-white jacket, smiled as she held her husband's arm and walked from an SUV to the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania.Bill Cosby wore a dark suit as the couple, escorted by court officers, declined to comment.Cosby has pleaded not guilty. This is the comedian's second trial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the first case. The core of the case against Cosby comes from Andrea Constand, who says Cosby drugged her and then assaulted her at his home in January 2004. Constand worked for the Temple University women's basketball team at the time, and Cosby, a Temple trustee, mentored her and then betrayed that trust, she testified. 1015

Following the Associated Press calling the presidential race for Democrat Joe Biden, statements of support from previous presidents calling for unity and congratulations were shared.President Barack Obama, who Biden served as Vice President between 2009-2017, started by saying how proud he was to congratulate Biden, his wife Jill, running mate Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff.“I know he’ll do the job with the best interests of every American at heart, whether or not he had their vote. So I encourage every American to give him a chance and lend him your support,” Obama’s statement reads. “The election results at every level show that the country remains deeply and bitterly divided. It will be up to not just Joe and Kamala, but each of us, to do our part - to reach out beyond our comfort zone, to listen to others, to lower the temperature and find some common ground from which to move forward, all of us remembering that we are one nation, under God.”Obama also thanked everyone who voted and got involved this election cycle, and urged all Americans to stay engaged in civic issues.President Bill Clinton tweeted his support, saying “America has spoken and democracy has won.” He also touched on healing a divided nation, saying “Now we have a President-Elect and Vice President-Elect who will serve all of us and bring us all together.”President Jimmy Carter said he and his wife Rosalynn are “proud” of the Democrats’ “well-run campaign and seeing the positive change they bring to our nation.” Carter served one term as president, from 1977-1981, while Biden was a young senator from Delaware. Below is a look at their full statements:President Barack Obama 1690

France is bracing for yet another weekend of protests that could rock Paris and other parts of the country.Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said the government was deploying 89,000 security force members across France -- including 8,000 in the capital -- in case the demonstrations turn violent again. Many of the capital's famed sites -- including the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Musée Delacroix and the Paris Opera -- will close over the weekend in advance of the protests, organized by the "gilets jaunes," or "yellow vest" movement. Their name comes from the high-visibility yellow vests that drivers are required to keep in their vehicles for safety reasons.Interior Minister Christophe Castaner vowed Friday to deploy all the means available to ensure the latest "yellow vest" protests are not hijacked by what he said were "10,000" people, "a small minority" of the movement who have been "radicalized and fallen into violence and hate.""We have to guarantee the safety of protesters and the right of citizens to move around freely," Castaner told a news conference.Nationwide, some 630 people were arrested and more than 260 were injured, including 81 police officers, during last weekend's protests, the third consecutive week of such demonstrations. There have also been four accidental deaths, according to officials. Three of them resulted from traffic accidents related to the blockades and the fourth was an 80-year-old woman who died in Marseille after being hit by a tear gas canister that came through her window. The demonstrations began as a form of grassroots opposition to rising gas prices and planned increases in taxes on polluting forms of transport, but they have since evolved into broader demonstrations against the government of President Emmanuel Macron.Macron appeared to back down Wednesday, announcing that the fuel tax planned for January -- as part of measures to combat climate change -- would not be introduced in 2019. But the movement now appears to be about more than just taxes; it's exposed the growing divide between Paris' metropolitan elite and the country's rural poor.Maxime Nicolle, a member of the gilets jaunes from rural Brittany, told CNN: "I'm definitely not backing down now. The moratorium is useless. The people want a referendum, a referendum on Macron, the senate and the national assembly."Street furniture, such as railings around trees and benches, will be removed from parts of Paris ahead of the expected protests.Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said municipal services were "mobilized and determined to ensure everyone's protection." In particular, she said, about 2,000 items of street furniture, including 58 public bike stations, are being removed so "troublemakers" cannot use the objects as weapons. Municipal buildings will be closed, she said.In an appeal to protesters, the mayor said: "Please take care of Paris, because Paris belongs to all the French people."  2939

For nearly a decade, 26-year-old entrepreneur Zachariah Reitano had only talked to one person about his erectile dysfunction: his doctor, who also happened to be his father. But over the past seven months, Reitano has told business partners, his girlfriend of four years, investors, and now the world. He's even created a business, called Roman, to help men discretely seek treatment. The startup connects them with doctors online who can diagnose ailments and write prescriptions, and Roman sends medication to their doorsteps. The startup has received .1 million in venture capital. 592
