LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A man died after being shot by deputies inside a Lemon Grove Del Taco Saturday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. on the 7000 block of Broadway. Deputies were called to the restaurant after a man reported that a suspect pointed a gun at his family while they were inside the restaurant. When deputies arrived, the suspect pulled out a handgun before being shot by deputies. The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. According to the department, all three deputies fired their weapons. None of the deputies were injured. LA MESA (CNS) - A 29-year-old man was shot multiple times and died in a La Mesa shopping center, police said Saturday.The shooting happened at 9:38 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Marketplace at Lake Murray Village, 5600 Lake Murray Blvd., according to Lt. Greg Runge of the La Mesa Police Department.Police received multiple calls of gunshots heard in the parking lot, Runge said. One caller reported seeing a victim down on the ground."Responding officers located the unresponsive victim and discovered he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso," Runge said.Officers began CPR and rendered aid until medics arrived, the lieutenant said. LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Scientists are using an autonomous underwater vehicle to help get purified wastewater to your faucets.  The remote-controlled sub operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography helps measure how the purified water mixes with the Lake Jennings reservoir water.It’s one of the state-required steps water officials need to take before purified wastewater from the Padre Dam Water District’s Advanced Water Purification System is introduced to homes through Helix Water District’s Lake Jennings and water treatment facility.“There’s that factor that it’s coming from a waste facility originally.  So, what happens if there’s some sort of failure that didn’t get caught? Well, now there’s a buffer. There’s a buffer. It will sit in the reservoir,” said Helix’s Director of Water Quality Brian Olney.If all goes as planned, Padre Dam will need to expand its Advanced Water Purification System and build a pipeline to deliver that water to Lake Jennings.  Olney said that could happen by 2023. 1045

Law enforcement authorities are searching for a man who's suspected of threatening to shoot President Donald Trump.Shawn Richard Christy, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania, was last seen in Cumberland, Maryland, Sunday night driving a stolen vehicle, according to the authorities.The US Marshals Service is offering ,000 for information leading to Christy's arrest. Christy has been wanted on a June 19 federal warrant, accused of posting threats on Facebook against the President and Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.According to officials, Christy posted, "Keep it up Morganelli, I promise I'll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump."Christy is a 27-year-old white man who stands at 5 feet 10 inches and weighs about 160 pounds, according to a flyer released by the FBI. He has short dark blond hair, a large tattoo on his right upper arm of a "pointed cross and barbed wire," and speaks with a distinct lisp.Kentucky State Police said that upon reviewing surveillance footage it appears on Aug. 9 Christy stole a green 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a black hood from the residence of Timothy Gilliam. Gilliam is the brother of Dakota Meyer, a Medal of Honor recipient and former husband of Bristol Palin.Christy could be driving another stolen vehicle at this point, according to authorities.Christy is also wanted on Pennsylvania state warrants for "burglary, probation violation, and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case," according to the marshals, and threatened to use "full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain me."The FBI, US Secret Service and US Marshals Service are seeking the public's assistance in locating Christy, who is armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Large U.S. employers saw their smallest health care cost increase in more than two decades due to COVID-19, and workers may benefit from that next year, according to the consulting firm Mercer.Patients stayed home and out of doctor’s offices this year to avoid the global pandemic, and that led to an average 1.9% cost hike for companies with 500 or more employees, Mercer found in a national survey.Those employers were expecting a 3.5% increase, said Beth Umland, Mercer’s director of health and benefits research.The lowest cost increase since 1997 will help many large employers avoid raising deductibles or doing other things to shift costs to workers in 2021, Umland said.Many companies also will spend some of what they saved adding programs that help improve the health of those covered by their plans. That could include expanding telemedicine, improving access to behavioral health care like therapy or adding programs that help people with a specific condition such as diabetes.Large employers pay their own health care claims. They can see fairly quickly if costs fall, unlike small employers that pay a fixed premium for coverage.Those employers may receive rebates for a similar drop in health care use, but they won’t know the extent of that until next year.Employer-sponsored health insurance covers about 157 million people, according to the non-profit Kaiser Family Foundation. 1403
