If you own a 2018 or 2019 Jeep Wrangler, get ready for a recall. According to documents posted to the JL Wrangler Forum, Fiat-Chrysler will soon be launching a recall that covers “certain” 2018-19 Wranglers because a faulty weld in the frame can cause a sudden crash.More specifically, the documents state some of the vehicles may have been built “with a front bar bracket weld located off the seam potentially resulting in the bracket separating from the frame.” If that happens, there may be a reduction in steering response, resulting in a crash without warning. At the time of this story, car owners had not yet been notified and the recall hasn’t been made official on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, but the posted documents show dealerships are aware of the impending recall. Some of the vehicles involved in the recall have actually not even been sold yet, so dealerships are being told to withhold sales.  991

Hurricane Delta has made landfall near Creole, Louisiana, as a Category 2 hurricane, but as it's moved inland, it has weakened to a Category 1 storm.WATCH LIVE: According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm made landfall at 6 p.m. CT with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph.A Florida Coastal Monitoring Tower near Lake Arthur, Louisiana, sustained wind of 77 mph and a gust to 96 mph, the NHC said. A NOAA National Weather Service water level gauge at Freshwater Canal Locks, Louisiana, recently reported a storm surge of over 8 feet above ground level. Louisiana has taken the brunt of the impact of the 2020 hurricane season. Hurricanes Marco and Laura have already made landfall in the state, causing inland flooding and significant damage along the coast. Hurricane Sally also did significant damage nearby Gulf Shores, Alabama, when it made landfall in September. The Associated Press reports that Delta marks the sixth time this year that evacuations have been ordered from Louisiana's barrier islands. After making landfall this afternoon, forecasters expect Delta to move north and dump heavy rain on the rest of Louisiana before moving west into Mississippi on Saturday. 1193

In a city where a bowl of noodles doesn't usually cost more than , a shop in Taipei has been charging 5, or TWD10,000, for its beef noodle soup -- and diners are happily paying for it.Beef noodle shop Niu Ba Ba, founded in 1990 in Taiwan, serves just eight types of beef noodles -- ranging from the classic Beef Father Beef Noodle Soup () to the most expensive -- the Presidential Beef Noodle Soup (5). 421

In another blow to its recovery efforts, an island-wide power outage left most of Puerto Rico in the dark, with only a fraction of residents regaining electricity by Wednesday night. The latest blackout prompted Gov. Ricardo Rossello to call on the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to cancel its contract with the subcontractor that caused the massive outage."I have suggested to the PREPA Board of Directors that they cancel the contract with the Cobra subcontractor who is directly responsible for this power outage," he said in a statement Wednesday. An excavator operated by D. Grimm, a subcontractor for Cobra Acquisitions, apparently caused the blackout, according to the authority. Workers had been removing a fallen tower when the machine got too close to an energized line and an electrical ground fault caused the outage, according to Mammoth Energy, Cobra's parent company. The same company was responsible for an outage that affected 870,000 customers after a tree fell on a power line last week, PREPA said."This is the second power failure that has affected the people of Puerto Rico in less than a week," Rossello said. "This incident denotes the need to transform PREPA into a cutting-edge, modern and robust corporation. This is another example of why Puerto Rico's energy infrastructure needs to incorporate new forms of power."As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, only 334,000 customers in the US commonwealth had electricity again, according to a tweet from PREPA. It also said via Twitter that it's working to restore service through the island. 1570

If you thought doctors making house calls was a thing of the past, check this out: They may be more relevant now than ever before. It starts with a call for help. But the responders aren't caped crusaders, and they are not riding in the Batmobile. Still, those who need their help would say they are saving the day.  Pam Womack and Dan Eppelsheimer are with DispatchHealth; on demand urgent care at your house. On a recent house call, they visited Lee Armstrong, whose gout made it nearly impossible to make it to the doctor.  "Is it this toe?" Womack asks. "Yes," Armstrong replies. "Right there where I'm touching?" Womack confirms.  After evaluating him, Womack was able to give Armstrong a dose of medication on the spot.  "Okay I'm going to print you up some instructions here," Womack says.  He was relieved.  "It's a shame that you can be so sick that you can't travel," Armstrong said. "I couldn't hardly walk to the door in there. I really appreciate it. I really do."  "I like going into the home with the patients," Womack said. "And seeing the challenges they might have in the home that if you came into the emergency room you might not see."  "People would come to the emergency department just for simple things like that which we can do quickly and easily at their own home," says Phil Mitchell, an ER physician and Medical Director at DispatchHealth.Dr. Mitchell said that experience is a catalyst for the work dispatch health does.Nationwide, 50 percent of emergency rooms operate at or above capacity. And every year 500,000 ambulances are diverted away from the closest hospital due to ER overcrowding."How do we provide more value for patients?" Mitchell says. "How to we decrease 911 transports and how do we decrease emergency medicine and emergency department visits for patients that don't really need to be in that high level of care."  From gout to a common cold, no need is too small. And the company says on average it's about 80 percent more affordable than a visit to the emergency room. There is an ongoing effort to streamline service and provide care where it's most comfortable.Right now, DispatchHealth operates in Colorado, Arizona, and Virginia and is continuing to expand nationwide with new operations scheduled to open in Las Vegas this year. 2375
