(KGTV) -- Tuesday, SpaceX launchged several satellites into orbit that will replace a satellite network and monitor climate change. The Iridium-6/GRACE-FO satellites were launched just before 1 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base. For this particular mission, SpaceX launched five Iridium NEXT satellites as part of the company's campaign to replace the world's largest commercial satellite network. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are planned with the company that will send into orbit 75 new satellites. Also on board the Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites that will monitor the movement of earth's mass for NASA and the German Research Centre for Geosciences.Watch the launch in the player below:  775

(KGTV) — The Saddleridge Fire forced thousands of northern Los Angeles residents to evacuate this week, charring thousands of acres and threatening homes.As the fire rages, firefighters have issued several neighborhood evacuations and street closures in the area. (SAN DIEGO) KGTV -- New records released show police responded to the home of the man that injured two police officers dozens of times in the past. On June 23rd, police responded to a disturbance call at the Rolando Court condo. When they smelled smoke, they called firefighters to the scene. Officers knocked on the front door for more than 20 minutes but received no response, officials said. Firefighters forced entry into the home. That’s when firefighters and officers were met with gunfire. Two officers were shot.The man inside the condo, Joe Darwish, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Following the June 23rd shooting, Team 10 requested details regarding the number of times police responded to Darwish's address, but they were not released until after the investigation was over. The officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.Documents show that since 2013, there were 31 calls for service to Darwish's address before the night of the shooting. More than half were 5150 calls, where officers checked on the individual’s mental wellbeing. Nine calls were for disturbances, some with violence. In February 2016, there was one call listed as “CCCC,” which police say describes a chronic caller to the department. The records also revealed police were at the home eight days before the shooting for another disturbance call with potential violence. Darwish did have a criminal history and was not supposed to own any weapons. 1443
