SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two people were stabbed in the San Diego River Tuesday night. According to police, the stabbing happened on the 500 block of Morena Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. between Old Town and Linda Vista.After the stabbing, the suspect, only described as a man wearing a white shirt, fled the scene. Despite a police helicopter and officers on foot, the suspect managed to escape.Lt. Mike Ramsay said the two victims were hispanic men, ages 18 and 19. One was stabbed in the chest and the other in the stomach. They were taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. Ramsay described their condition as "serious but stable."Police closed off Morena Boulevard near Interstate 8 as they searched for the suspect, creating heavy traffic in the area. 10News will continue to keep you updated as soon as we receive more information. 882

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a body was found in Balboa Park Wednesday afternoon. According to officers, the body was found on the 2100 block of Balboa Drive near Juniper Road and the San Diego Chess Club. The cause of death is unclear at this time. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One person was killed and five people were injured after a crash near Scripps Ranch Sunday afternoon.The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pomerado Road and Avenue of Nations near Thurgood Marshall Middle School.Police said an 18-year-old driver and one passenger in a gray BMW were heading home from a basketball tournament when they swerved into oncoming traffic.They crashed into a white Chevy with four people inside, all between the ages of 70 and 90.The driver of the Chevy sedan, a 90-year-old woman, died from her injuries, police said.At least five ambulances were requested at the scene, according to authorities.The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but the driver told police he had mechanical trouble with his brakes. Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the accident, police said.   917

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- National City police are searching for the driver linked to a hit-and-run crash that killed a skateboarder earlier this month.Police said on July 10, at around 12:30 a.m., 28-year-old Victor Ernest Morales was riding his skateboard northbound on the street in the 500 block of Palm Avenue when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle at a high rate of speed.The vehicle sped away, leaving Morales on the road, police said. He suffered major injuries and later died.According to police, Morales’ girlfriend and a friend were with him at the time of the incident.The vehicle in the case is believed to be a silver-colored, 4-door, 1999-2002 Toyota Echo. Police said the vehicle likely has damage to the front driver’s side, as well as damage to the driver’s side headlight and windshield.A surveillance camera captured a photo of the vehicle believed to be involved in the collision, and police are asking any businesses in the area that may have video of the vehicle before or after the crash to contact them.Investigators are also asking vehicle repair shops to be on the lookout for the vehicle due to its damage from the crash.Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the National City Police Department’s Investigations Unit at 619-336-4474 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.A reward of up to ,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case. 1434
