RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - A suspect was taken into custody following a hit-and-run crash that injured a bicyclist in Ramona in early October. Chase Richard, 32, was arrested on the 16000 block of Swartz Canyon Road in Ramona Tuesday. According to California Highway Patrol, Richard is a Ramona resident. Earlier in the week, authorities said they found the vehicle that injured the cyclist. The bicyclist, Michelle Scott, was seriously injured the morning of Oct. 2. on State Route 67 near Dye Road. The vehicle involved was a black 2019 Ford Edge, according to the CHP. Witnesses provided information which led investigators to the possible location of the vehicle involved in the crash. Officers saw the vehicle with damage consistent with the hit-and-run collision. Jeff Christy said in a news release. Monday, CHP investigators served a warrant at the home and seized the vehicle as evidence. (KGTV) - A Ramona couple walking their yellow Labrador puppy say they were attacked by two pit bulls Tuesday night, suffering serious injuries.Michael Dougherty was walking with his wife, Dee, in the Kmart parking lot in the 1800 block of Main Street training their puppy, Rueger. Dougherty said it's easier in the parking lot, as there is more light, compared to their rural neighborhood.As they walked toward the Taco Shop, around 7:15 p.m., Dougherty said from the corner of his eye, he saw two pit bulls charging.RELATED: Dog and owner mauled by pit bull during walk in OceansideThey attacked Rueger and his wife, who went down trying to rescue the dog. Dougherty is recovering from a back injury and walks with a cane. He used it as a weapon."I just started beating the dog, beating the dog, until it [the cane] snapped. This fell down alongside the dog and my wife and she grabbed this and was jamming it into the dog's mouth. When this broke I started punching the dog in the head."Eventually they were able to separate all three dogs. No one escaped uninjured.
