SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — At Fleet Week, the Osprey MV-22 is on display, on the USS Harper's Ferry's flight deck, a controversial aircraft after dozens died during training. Crews say now it's much safer.The unique aircraft transforms from a helicopter to a plane mid-flight. The trouble, four crashes killed 30 people during training missions from 1991-2000."Most every system on that aircraft has a triple redundant system, so that if there is a failure the other two systems pick up the slack," Corporal Tyler Gartin said. "The Osprey was able to land in places that other aircraft were not able to, and carry out a much higher payload than any other helicopter possibly could have. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Traffic was backed up throughout the day Monday in Clairemont after a crash involving several vehicles. The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Balboa Avenue near Albertine Avenue. According to San Diego Police, a 59-year-old man driving west on Balboa Avenue hit a raised median and crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic. Police say he then hit a Jeep Patriot, causing it to slam into a Honda Civic and a Jeep Cherokee. Police say the driver of the Jeep Patriot sustained a fractured femur and was taken to the hospital. Her passenger also complained of pain. No one else was injured. The 59-year-old driver of the Nissan Frontier was arrested for DUI drugs. 695

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors live with an invisible injury, and its effects can be debilitating."I was not happy with myself, I was unhealthy, I was seeking all sorts of excitement and danger, I was drinking a whole heck of a lot, very angered, always in pain, migraines, physically and emotionally drained, unhealthy in so many ways," said Jimmy Works, a retired Marine Corps veteran.While his last deployment was in 2010, Works was only diagnosed with TBI this year despite suffering multiple head injuries in combat."It's part of life, it's a new reality," said Works. Works and other TBI survivors are now finding healing through LoveYourBrain Yoga, an evidence-based program now in dozens of states. "What's unique about the LoveYourBrain series is it's specifically for survivors of traumatic brain injuries and their caregivers," said Nancine Decherd, a facilitator for the program.
