A new study out of a pediatric medical center in Chicago suggests that young children do not only spread COVID-19 more efficiently than adults, but they could be major drivers in the pandemic as schools start to reopen.The report was published at the end of July and examined concentrations of COVID-19 in the nasopharynx, or the upper region of the throat that connects nasal passages. According to the results, children ages 5 and younger who develop mild to moderate symptoms have 10 to 100 times as much COVID-19 in their nasopharynx as adults.“This is a very complex issue involving not just the virus, but everything else,” said Dr. Kwang Sik Kim, director of pediatric infectious disease at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. "We don’t have any real data to indicate to schools what they should do, what is the best recipe they need to follow.”The study raised concerns about the erratic behavior of children and how it could play a factor in the virus’ spread, reading, "Behavioral habits of young children and close quarters in school and daycare settings raise concern for SARS-CoV-2 amplification in this population as public health restrictions are eased. A Nashville man with a "chronic booking history” was jailed overnight Wednesday, marking his 539th arrest in the Music City.According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, most of Robert Brown's arrests were petty misdemeanor charges, like the latest one for criminal trespassing and public intoxication.He was arrested Wednesday at an Exxon station on Rosa Parks Boulevard for allegedly refusing to leave and arguing with an employee.Police arrived and noted that he was "intoxicated to a point that he was a danger to himself and others."The 48-year-old man has arrests dating back to 1994, when he was 25-years-old. A man was arrested after he broke into a Long Island home posing as a Nassau County police officer Friday evening.Robert White, 48, forced his way into the victim’s second floor bedroom apartment around 6:30 p.m., police said.When he entered the apartment, he told the victim, 21, he was an officer and was there to collect rent money. He threatened the victim would be arrested if he did not comply, authorities said.The victim handed White an undisclosed amount of money, police said.White was later taken into custody and was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny and criminal impersonation. 629

A new study done by researchers in Hungary and Mexico found that dogs aren't all that excited when it comes to seeing a person's face.After an MRI of 20 dogs, the researchers made their findings, and 30 people's brains were scanned while watching a series of videos that showed either the front or back of a dog or person's head.The finding, which was published Monday in the Journal of Neuroscience, was that dogs' brains aren't hardwired to focus on faces.
