UPDATE SATURDAY, JUNE 26 - 7:50 A.M.ESCONDIDO POLICE WATCH COMMANDER TOLD ABC 10NEWS THE MISSING WOMAN WAS FOUND FRIDAY IN ESCONDIDO AND "WAS OK."---SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who disappeared after a trip to Pala Casino.According to sheriff’s officials, someone contacted deputies at the department’s San Marcos station just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday to report Katelyn Schwindt missing.The person who contacted deputies said the 27-year-old Schwindt posted a message on her Facebook page that indicated she was at Pala Casino on the evening of June 24. In the same message, Schwindt wrote that she was possibly drugged and assaulted.ABC 10News spoke with Schwindt's friend, Krystle Hudnell. TUCSON, Arizona — As teachers vote on a potential walk out their employers are trying to figure out what to do if that happens.Tucson Unified School District Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo said Tuesday a prolonged walk out that affects final exams could jeopardize high school graduation schedules.He says TUSD is trying to find a way to keep schools open and busses running so students who rely on schools for meals can eat. That would include a skeletal bus schedule and at least some staff coming to work. “Schools physically would be open, but instructional services would be closed. United Airlines said it's suspending a program that transports pets in cargo holds.It will stop accepting new reservations for its PetSafe program, though it will honor any reservations made through March 20, the airline said.Passengers can still carry small pets with them in carry-on luggage.The suspension comes as United reviews its pet transport policies, a process that should be completed by May 1, United said.United has experienced some major pet-traveling disasters recently. (KGTV) - Amid a COVID-related cancellation at a Valley Center cemetery, a community is coming together to help save an annual tradition.Valley Center Cemetery is the final resting place to more than 300 veterans. On Friday, local florist Jenelle Brinneman learned an annual holiday sight would not be laid out.She says the local chapter of a nonprofit that puts down Christmas wreaths at military grave markers announced there would be no wreaths, citing logistical problems in placing them amid COVID-19 restrictions and stay-at-home orders."Our hearts dropped, because we know how much it means," said Brinneman.On Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Brinneman raised money to place roses at military grave sites amid similar cancellations."There were strangers thanking us. People were crying, watching us put roses down," said Brinneman.Undeterred after the most recent disappointment, Brinneman posted on Facebook on Friday a call for donations to make wreath sprays, a smaller version of wreaths. When she returned home Saturday evening, she discovered something astounding."I just started crying right there. Our town is amazing ... My driveway was filled with pine, cedar, ribbons, and wreaths companies were about to throw away," said Brinneman.Brinneman set up a workshop in her driveway. Dozens of volunteers have signed up to help assemble."This is what the Christmas spirit is all about," said Brinneman.She's also hoping to include message from kids."It will be so great to walk past and see a little note attached from an amazing child in our town," said Brinneman.Brinneman says come Christmas Eve -- thanks to a community's support -- she'll be able to place the sprays at every military grave marker in the cemetery."They deserve to be recognized.
