Seattle police have moved in to break up the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) after Mayor Jenny Durkan issued an executive order early Wednesday morning declaring the gathering illegal.According to the Seattle Times and KOMO-TV, about a dozen protesters were arrested Wednesday morning as police ordered those present to leave the area.Demonstrators have occupied the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle for about three weeks. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two men were arrested in Mexico Wednesday after authorities say someone shot at a Border Patrol agent. The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday roughly a mile and a half away from the San Ysidro Port of Entry. A spokesperson with Border Patrol says the agent radioed in and said someone shot at him. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A driver told 10News she was terrified as she crashed through the front of a San Marcos doggy daycare Friday morning. The crash happened at Sandy Pawz, 630 Nordahl Road, as a crowd looked on. The driver was reportedly distracted by her own dog. “She decided to help me drive, and jumped up,” said the woman who only wanted to be identified as Robin. “Everything was crashing down on my windshield and I didn't know what was in front of me.” The car went past the front lobby and through drywall into a second room. “I consider myself a very smart person but I froze out of fear...fear, and then I thought I was going to die.” No pets or people were harmed. (KGTV) - The City of San Marcos is turning to crowdfunding to make up for budget shortfalls in their 4th of July plans.For the second straight year, the city set up a GoFundMe website to raise money for fireworks. This year's goal is ,500.City officials tell 10News the city already pitches in ,000 to pay for entertainment, security, permits and other costs associated with their annual Fireworks Extravaganza.They also say traditional donations have brought in about ,000 for fireworks. But the fireworks show costs K."I can tell you, it's the best show in North County," says San Marcos Recreations Programs Manager Andrea Gonzalez. "It's a real show-stopper."Last year's GoFundMe brought in more than ,000. (KGTV) — CAL FIRE San Diego firefighters quickly knocked down a brush fire in San Marcos on Thursday, amid Santa Ana winds and dangerous fire weather conditions throughout the county.The 3-acre fire, dubbed the Sycamore Fire, ignited near Sycamore Dr. and Cox Rd. just before 12:30 p.m., according to CAL FIRE. Fire crews reported the fire began in heavy fuel and had a moderate rate of spread, but were able to halt its spread within about 30 minutes.Firefighters will remain on the scene for several hours to mop-up and further contain the fire.Thursday, dry Santa Ana winds created high fire danger throughout the county. A Red Flag Warning was in effect Thursday through 10 p.m. on Saturday for the county's valleys, foothills, and mountains. The combination of near-record low fuel moisture, strong winds, and low humidity dropping between 6 and 12% will create critical fire conditions.A High Wind Warning will be in effect for the same areas until 6 p.m. on Thursday.
