SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new report ranks California as one of the richest states in the nation based on household income, according to 24/7 Wall Street.The report ranks California 8th out of 50 states, with a median household income of ,805.Though the report is favorable as far as income, the report notes that the lucrative entertainment and technology industries significantly drive up the median.Also noted in the report is the fact that California has the 22nd highest poverty rate at over 13 percent and the 12th highest unemployment rate.See the list below for the richest states on the list:1. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego man died after crashing his car into a ditch overnight Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened on I-5 north near Clairemont in East Mission Bay. Officers say they believe the single-vehicle crash happened sometime overnight, but wasn't reported until the sun came up. According to CHP, the car crashed into a ditch on the side of a freeway. Officers say it's too early to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. 521

There are over 100 Brain Balance Centers across the country. The centers use specific exercised to target and strengthen different parts of the brain. Among the 50 states, California ranked last for housing affordability, 47th for median family salary (adjusted for cost of living) and 42nd for child care cost. The Golden State may not be so golden for a decent percentage of families as it also ranked 29th for percentage of families in poverty. But it’s not all bad news, California also ranked 12th for families with young kids and 11th for its separation and divorce rate. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Palomar College student told deputies he wanted to cause a mass casualty shooting at the school and carry it out in April to commemorate the Columbine High School shooting.Team 10 has learned the student is the same person who made threats involving the San Diego County Administration Center last week.10News is not naming the student because no records are showing he’s been charged with a crime at this time.According to court documents obtained by 10News, the student stated to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies he intended on “targeting the egress walkways by using an elevated point and shooting a firearm upon bystanders.”The court filing, a petition for workplace violence restraining orders, included a Palomar College Incident Reporting Form that stated, “he intended on targeting the egress walkways by using an elevated point and shooting a firearm upon bystanders.” It also noted he “began planning this assault in January 2018 and wanted to carry it out on Friday, April 20, 2018, to commemorate the Columbine High School shooting.”The student didn't have a specific staff member or student targeted but was looking at any bystanders that would be in the area.A spokesperson for Palomar College tells 10News, 1269
