SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- During this COVID-19 pandemic, many unsung heroes have stepped up to offer assistance in this critical time of need. And that includes a local pilot, who helping those workers, that help him to get off the ground. Anthony Oshinuga became interested in becoming a pilot when he was 5-years old, and now he's a veteran of the air. Anthony's need for speed and adrenaline led him to racing and performing aerobatics. But he calls his latest piloting adventure, his most rewarding. Flying his own biplane, he traveled across in the country for a campaign he calls, "Reach for the sky...we've got the ground"."Essentially, what that means, is for the support crew that is on the ground at each airport we visited. We delivered a COVID-19 relief package that had face masks, hand sanitizer, and then we gave them a mug to say thank you. We appreciate what you are doing."It was quite a trip for the Valley Center resident, as his flight included 44 stops in 22 locations."My sponsor, Epic Fuel,s, put together this campaign that covered six thousand nautical miles, in my biplane, traveling about 160 miles per hour, " says Anthony. His trip was about giving thanks to airport employees."We have people at the airport, like the guys who fuel the trucks, and those workers who greet people coming off private jets. There are interactions and contact with these people all the time, and we don't think about that."And along his journey, he was able to visit with young kids, and maybe inspire them to become pilots one day. "There were a few stops along the way where people got word of me stopping in. A bunch of kids came out that were S.T.E.M motivated. Medical experts say it's not necessarily going to work.The lines were hours long in front of a Linda Vista testing site, just as long at sites around the county Sunday."There's a worrisome reason for that, people are planning to go visit their older relatives and they think they're going to be 100% safe," Dr. Davey Smith, Chief of Infectious Diseases at UC San Diego said getting tested Sunday or any day leading up to Thanksgiving could give you a false negative."If I get tested now, it doesn't mean that I'm not infected, it just means that I'm not actively shedding the virus," Smith said.According to the CDC the incubation period for the virus is 2-14 days."I thought Halloween was going to be the scary part of the year but November, December, January are just going to be really tough I think. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Dramatic dash camera video shows the moment two cars sped along San Diego’s State Route 94, leading one of the drivers to lose control and crash. The race happened Thursday just after 8 a.m. near the College Grove avenue exit of westbound SR-94. Video shows two sedans, an Audi and a BMW, drive up fast behind the witness' vehicle and pass him, before the BMW crashes into an unsuspecting driver.“Just a complete surprise,” said a witness who shared his video with 10News and requested to remain anonymous. The witness was taking his mother to the doctor when the sedans approached him from behind. “I just see them come out of nowhere and spin out, and runs into the back of the car,” said the witness. “In real time, I didn’t even see the other car.” “My first thought was, he was running from the cops,” the witness told 10News. The witness said the BMW driver involved in the crash stopped to check on the innocent victim, then went back across the road. No one was injured in the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP is investigating what officers say is possibly a racing crash. No arrests have been made. “Ain’t no real reason to go that fast with that many people on the road,” the witness said. “He completely totaled the back of that guy’s car and there could have been a kid back there.” 1348
