LOS ANGELES (AP) — “HBO's” limited series “Watchmen” is the leading Emmy nominee with 26 nods. The series, which captured America’s unease as it faces racial clashes amid a pandemic, was nominated as best limited series and received bids for cast members including Regina King and Jeremy Irons.Leslie Jones kicked off the reading of this year's Emmy nominations. Jones opened the virtual presentation by joking that she was locked on a set with only a cameraman. Jones helped read the nominees, which included 20 for the Amazon comedy “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” for the second spot. Netflix's “Ozark" came in third with 18 nominations.The September 20 ceremony will air on ABC with Jimmy Kimmel as host. Fans can sign Kaepernick as a free agent in franchise mode and put him at the helm of any NFL team, as well as including him on any team in the play now mode. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A famous South American chef says he was stopped as he brought 40 piranhas in a duffel bag through Los Angeles International Airport.Virgilio Martinez, chef-owner of Central restaurant in Peru, tells the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that he hoped to serve the predatory, sharp-toothed fish during an LA food festival.Martinez was featured in the third season of the Netflix show "Chef's Table."He says customs agents pulled him into an interrogation room last week when they found the cache of frozen, vacuum-sealed piranhas.After five hours, the agents let Martinez through with the fish. He used them that night on a salad. LOS ANGELES (KGTV) - Surveillance video released by the Los Angeles Police Department shows a violent taco truck robbery that left a worker with injuries.Three men entered the truck as it was parked on West Manchester Ave. in South Los Angeles around 3 a.m. on July 14.Police said the men forced the workers to the ground and demanded cash.One worker was pistol-whipped during the hold-up. There is no word on his condition.The suspects were not able to gain access to the safe in the taco truck. They took the workers’ cell phones and cash before leaving, investigators said.Los Angeles Police said the men were last seen running from the location with the victims’ property. They were described as in their 20s with no distinctive physical features.Anyone with information was asked to call the LAPD. 810
