STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- A Michigan police officer is being called a hero after the harrowing rescue of a 3-week-old girl was caught on the officer's dashcam.Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to a home in Sterling Heights on a report of an infant not breathing.Officer Cameron Maciejewski was the first to arrive and jumped into action. The officer was met by the family outside the home and took the baby, who was not breathing, into his arms.Officer Maciejewski is seen on video calmly taking the baby in his arms and performs back thrusts in an attempt to clear her airways. After a few seconds, the baby coughs up the obstruction and begins the cry.The baby was then turned over to the Sterling Heights Fire Department and transported to the hospital for evaluation.“If it wasn’t for Ofc. Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different. Supporters of President Donald Trump flooded roadways Sunday in New York and New Jersey, shutting down traffic on expressways and bridges.With just days to go before the election, caravans of cars flying Trump flags caused a traffic jam on the Garden State Parkway around Cheesequake and Lakewood. Police said the demonstration caused a 5-mile backup on the highway.In New York, videoes showed parked vehicles filled with Trump supporters on the Mario Cuomo Bridge. Students in at the Arizona College Prepatory Academy will walk out of class Wednesday to show their support for the Second Amendment.The event is called Stand for the Second and is happening in at least 39 other states across the U.S.The walkout comes after students around the country staged a walkout aimed at stopping gun violence and honoring the students killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In February, protesters nationwide left their classrooms and remained outside for 17 minutes to honor the 17 people gunned down.Will Riley, an 18 year old from New Mexico, started this event to support the lives saved by firearms.“Every year an estimated 1.5 million Americans use a firearm to defend themselves,” Riley said. “During a 16-minute walkout, that breaks down to 91 American lives saved during the walkout. SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES (KGTV) -- Crews are battling a rapidly-spreading brush fire in northern Los Angeles County late Thursday night amid a statewide Red Flag Warnings.News station ABC7 is reporting that the 15-acre blaze, named Saddleridge Fire, is burning near homes and power lines.The fire erupted around 10 p.m. near the westbound 210 Freeway near Yarnell Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.Flames stopped traffic along the 210 when the fire jumped from the westbound side to the eastbound side.
