GOLDEN, Colo. — A man who escaped from a Colorado Department of Corrections prison in Golden Tuesday morning has been captured. According to police, Sean Garcia, 27, was located and arrested in Denver. The escapee was taken into custody after authorities set a perimeter in the area. Garcia had escaped from the state prison facility by climbing a perimeter fence.Garcia is serving time for weapons and theft charges out of Rio Blanco County. His Parole eligibility date was in January, and his mandatory release date was Sep. 2 of this year, according to the DOC. Details as to how Garcia managed to escape the secure facility by climbing a fence have not been released. Having a full kitchen of healthy foods is becoming a luxury. Food pantries across the country are still seeing a dramatic increase in need.“I hope that we eventually get this thing under control, so we can wean everyone off the need for food pantries and shelters like ours, because this is not sustainable,” said Kim Guadagno, CEO of Fulfill, a New Jersey food bank.Guadagno says her organization has seen an increase in demand of almost 2.5 million meals compared to this time last year.Feeding America says at the peak in April, there was a 70% increase in demand, and it’s sustained around 60% higher.Many food banks say they're seeing many families for the first time.“You can always tell someone who has never been to a food pantry before. They come literally right up to this building in tears, because they’ve never had to ask for help before and it’s crushing to all of us,” said Guadagno.Feeding America expects that increased need will continue during the holidays, which is an important time for food banks.“We see increased awareness around hunger and food insecurity around the holidays. It’s a great time for food banks to fundraise. A lot of that fundraising helps sustain them throughout the year,” said Zuani Villarreal, Director of Communications at Feeding America.Food banks are having to purchase more product because of supply chain disruptions.They say right now, cash donations are critical for that and to purchase new supplies like PPE. 1471

So, after thinking about it for quite some time and how we could do it knowing that flying for both of us is out of the question, we decided to rent an RV," said Chuck.They liked it so much, they bought their own. They believe it's the only way to safely see family for at least the next few years. Not only do they not deal with other people at airports or on planes, but they’re staying in a much safer environment."So far, we’ve really kind of enjoyed it, it’s been fun," said Robyn.They say they’ve seen parts of the country they never knew were so breathtaking that they've always just flown over."I didn’t know it was so beautiful. Those states are just absolutely gorgeous," said Robyn.So far, they’ve taken a trip out west to visit family in Colorado. They just got back from a 12-day trip up north stopping to see two of their daughters and their families, even celebrating Robyn's birthday."It’s not without its problems, though. There’s a lot that goes into it in terms of planning, how much medication you take, how much food you take, how many miles can you effectively drive in one day, and where we’re going to stop," said Chuck.However, it’s all worth it when you get to spend time with your family."We miss our family. GENEVA (AP) — The European Union’s Earth observation program says the ozone hole over Antarctica has swelled to its largest size and deepest level in years.Experts at the Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service say a strong, stable and cold polar vortex has driven the expansion, and have called for greater international efforts to ensure countries abide by an international accord to phase out use of ozone-depleting chemicals.Vincent-Henri Peuch, who heads the service, said in a statement that the ozone hole was “definitely” among the largest in the last 15 years.“With the sunlight returning to the South Pole in the last weeks, we saw continued ozone depletion over the area,” Peuch said. “After the unusually small and short-lived ozone hole in 2019, which was driven by special meteorological conditions, we are registering a rather large one again this year, which confirms that we need to continue enforcing the Montreal Protocol banning emissions of ozone depleting chemicals.”Since the ban on halocarbons, officials say the ozone layer has slowly been recovering and data shows a trend in decreasing area of the ozone hole.Ozone depletion over the Antarctic continent was first noticed in 1985. 1217
