More details are coming out about Rudy Giuliani’s scenes in the upcoming “Borat” film, featuring comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Earlier this summer, Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney and former mayor of New York City, called police after the incident.Reviews of Cohen’s movie, “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” appeared online Wednesday ahead of its Friday release on Amazon Prime. Vanity Fair and The Guardian describe the scene with Giuliani in more detail, in which he agrees to an interview with a young woman in her hotel room.Cohen’s co-star in the movie, Maria Bakalova, is posing as a journalist and sets up an interview with Giuliani. They meet in a hotel room, “where he holds her hands, compliments her appearance, and follows her to the bedroom. She spends some time elaborately taking off their microphones; briefly, he lies down on the bed. His hand is in his pants,” writes Sonia Saraiya with Vanity Fair. The Guardian says Giuliani follows her to the bedroom to have a drink and “can be seen lying back on the bed, fiddling with his untucked shirt and reaching into his trousers.”At which point, Cohen runs into the room in character, and yells “She’s 15. She’s too old for you.” Bakalova’s character is 15 in the movie, she’s 24 in real life.Giuliani posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon, saying the video was "complete fabrication. I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment. At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate. If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise he is a stone-cold liar." 1561

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (AP) — A prosecutor in the trial of an Iowa father whose infant son was found dead and maggot-infested in a baby swing last year has told a jury the child "died of diaper rash."Assistant Iowa Attorney General Coleman McAllister told jurors Tuesday that 4-month-old Sterling Koehn had been in the same diaper for nine to 14 days when his body was found in the swing Aug. 30, 2017, at his parents' Alta Vista apartment, the Courier reported .The baby's father, 29-year-old Zachary Paul Koehn, is charged with murder and child endangerment. The boy's mother, Cheyanne Harris, is also charged and faces a separate trial at a later date.McAllister said Tuesday in opening statements that the baby's heavily soiled diaper had attracted bugs that had laid eggs, which had hatched into maggots. The resulting diaper rash led to ruptured skin, and e.Coli bacteria set in."He died of diaper rash. That's right, diaper rash," McAllister said.A coroner's report showed the baby died of malnutrition, dehydration and the infection. In opening statements Tuesday, Koehn's attorney said the baby's death was a tragedy, but not a crime.McAllister denied the defense's claims, saying Koehn was an experienced parent. He noted that Koehn's 2-year-old daughter was also in the apartment and was healthy, and that Koehn had money to buy food and baby supplies. He stated Koehn was a drug user.Nurse and county rescue squad EMT Toni Friedrich testified Tuesday that she was the first to arrive at the apartment after Koehn called 911 to report the baby had died. Friedrich said Koehn showed no emotion when he led her to the dark, hot bedroom where the baby's body was.The baby's "eyes were open, and it was a blank stare," she said.Friedrich said when she touched the baby's chest, his clothing was crusty. When she moved his blanket, gnats flew up, she said.Koehn's trial was moved from Chickasaw County to Henry County to counter pretrial publicity. 1969

Millions of students will begin the school year at home in front of a computer, despite the fact virtual learning proved inadequate for many working families and students lacking technology access. Some education advocates suggest looking outside the classroom walls as a way to bring kids back to school safely. "Our focus on the outdoors is even more critical now than it has been," said Allegra Inganni, School Age Program Director for the Child Educational Center.Based out of La Ca?ada in Southern California, the private nonprofit has spent decades developing a childcare program centered around the outdoors. "It's everything! Children are happier, they're healthier. There are statistics that say the more time they spend outside, the fewer days they're out sick," said Ellen Veselack, director of the center's preschool program. Veselack says the program is research-based, and that learning outside is not only beneficial for kids physically but also cognitively."It's not just young children who do better outside, there's a whole host of research about the benefits of nature for us as adults," said Veselack. One of the center's initiatives is The Outdoor Classroom Project, designed to help schools and other childcare centers embrace outdoor learning. During the pandemic, schools have reached out looking for ideas on how to get started. "One of the things they talked about was what could they could help their teachers do outside. For example, if you're reading a chapter book to second graders, why not go outside to do that?" said Inganni. "I think school districts could do some amazing things if they just reach a little bit and pivot in their thinking," said Veselack. Outdoor learning advocates believe the move could help heal trauma from months of isolation and learning from a screen. It would also help schools navigate social distancing requirements while reducing the chance of virus spread. Countries like Denmark and Italy have embraced the concept, successfully reopening some schools. The outdoor-education advocacy group Green Schoolyards America has long worked with school districts and public agencies to transform asphalt-covered school grounds into park-like green spaces. They've launched a COVID-19 initiative to help schools develop cost-effective strategies to reopen outside, which includes online webinars, safety guidelines, and a two-page summary for districts new to the idea, or for teachers looking to start a conversation."It is thinking outside the box and knowing there is a different way to look at this," said Veselack. While the concept could prove more challenging for communities that lack green space or face inclement weather, it's one more strategy to help schools gain back some of the normalcy COVID-19 took away. 2781

More than 5,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling on the state of Tennessee to replace all statues honoring the Confederacy with statues honoring country music legend and native Tennessean Dolly Parton.Parton, a nine-time Grammy winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, is also known worldwide for her philanthropy efforts. Following wildfires in the Smokey Mountains, Parton donated millions of dollars to help the community's recovery. She's also touched millions of lives through her charitable foundation. The petition, started by Alex Parsons on June 11, has quickly spread online. It's moving in on its initial goal of 7,500 signatures."Let's replace the statues of men who sought to tear this country apart with a monument to the woman who has worked her entire life to bring us closer together," the petition says.In an update, organizers clarified their stance, saying that "while the idea of replacing all of those monuments with Dolly Parton may seem funny, the history of those monuments is anything but."The petition comes as communities across the country hold conversations about systemic racism in the United States amid several high-profile deaths of black men and women at the hands of police in 2020. Last week, the state of Kentucky removed a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis from its capitol rotunda, and the city of Richmond, Virginia has announced it plans to take down several Confederate monuments that dot the city. However, Tennessee has been more reluctant to remove Confederate statues. Last week, a state Senate committee voted to kill a resolution that would have forced the removal of a bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest from the capitol building. Forrest, a Confederate general, served as the Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan in the 1800s. 1813
