SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A street in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter is shutting down starting Thursday for bars, restaurants and other businesses to create more space for customers.From Thursday to Saturday, Fifth Avenue will be closed between G and L streets as a way to help break up potential overcrowding as downtown businesses reopen.The street closure will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, with “Curbside Gaslamp” running from 3 p.m.-12 a.m. on both days. 469

It really did,” Justice Arreguin said.It happened a week ago Sunday.Arreguin was with some friends when she jumped off the cliff into the water. The first jump was fine, she said. But when she jumped the second time, it almost killed her.The big waves pulled her under and tossed her around. She couldn't breathe.“Then this guy he just popped out of nowhere and he was like 'you have to stay calm. Try to stay calm,'" Arreguin said. "And so I did and after a while, he jumped in the water when it was safe."The man pulled justice out. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A toddler found near Lincoln High School Thursday afternoon has been reunited with his parents.According to a witness, the child was found wandering around near the corner of Franklin Avenue and Gloria Street.The witness, who had just dropped her granddaughter off at cheer practice, said the toddler wasn’t crying, but simply standing on the street alone.The woman approached the child and asked if he was lost before the toddler smiled back at her. She then asked where he lived.After the child pointed down the street, the woman took his hand and called out loudly asking if anyone lost a child.After no one came forward, the woman took the young child to a nearby fire station where a fire crew was able to call police.Police were able to bring the child safely to a police station where they took care of him until he was brought home. 868

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A sea of purple covered Mission Bay Park as thousands showed up to ride, run and walk for epilepsy awareness.The event is Sharon's Ride, Run, Walk.  Sharon’s Ride was started by Dr. William Rosenfeld honor Dr. Rosenfeld’s sister, Sharon,  who was killed in a bicycle accident while bicycling cross country. She was also a nurse and teacher who cared deeply about epilepsy. Dr. Rosenfeld is the chairman of the event nationwide.   Participants could choose from a 15-mile bike ride or a 5k run or walk around Mission Bay.   The money raised benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County.   678
