(KGTV) -- The controversial immigrant caravan is inching it's way closer to the San Diego border, with at least 132 people already in Tijuana. Many of the migrants plan to walk across the pedestrian bridge in San Ysidro and turn themselves in to the customs officers. The group of more than 600 has ridden trains and walked for miles to get to the United States - Mexico border.  Enrique Morones and his team - known as Border Angels - are sending supplies to Tijuana. "The Border Angels have been very supportive, we've had people on the caravan, we have been collecting items for the caravan," he said. "These people that are coming on a caravan are escaping a situation in their country that they're seeking refuge from. Let's welcome that stranger. Give me your poor, your tired your huddled masses."Jorge Nieto, a journalist following the immigrants' journey, says they have been arriving in Tijuana in small groups - 50 to 100 at a time.Nieto was told that once the whole group is together, they'll cross all at once. The caravan hasn't been without controversy.President Trump tweeted this week, saying he instructed the secretary of homeland security to keep the large caravan out of the U.S., and asked Mexico to keep the immigrants from going through the Country. RELATED: Migrant caravan heads to US-Mexico border "They're trying to escape something. Either hunger or violence or some sort of a war that's going on," Nieto said. "One of the reasons that they go in caravans is there's a power in groups. If you go as a group, then you're more secure."San Diegans For Secure Borders, a local group against the caravan, plans to stop the caravan when they arrive. In a Facebook group they created, they say that the "mass foreign invasion" must be stopped. In 2014, the same group went to Murrietta to stop buses of immigrant detainees from Texas. We reached out to them several times to find out what they plan on doing this week but did not get a response.  2031

Soon, notable names across the entertainment industry shared their condolences and personal stories about the legendary star.Philbin's longtime former "Live! A 13-year-old middle school student from Elkhorn, Nebraska was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of terroristic threats. According to a release, the student made non-specific threats on a national social media gaming website on Wednesday. After he was questioned Wednesday, he made similar non-specific threats again on Thursday on a different social media platform. The student was booked in the Douglas County Youth Center. Because of his age, his name was not released. Elkhorn Public Schools released a statement: "On Wednesday, law enforcement investigated an Elkhorn Valley View Middle School student regarding a nonspecific threat made on a national social media gaming website. Elkhorn Public Schools administration cooperated fully with local law enforcement throughout the investigation.  Elkhorn Public Schools takes all threats seriously, and in this situation, at no time did we feel students were in immediate danger. Parents of the student affected received an email on Wednesday afternoon, informing them of the situation." Captain Wayne Hudson with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said deputies will be patrolling schools more closely in upcoming days given the alleged threats. Hudson says law enforcement agencies across the nation are not taking any potential copycat shooting threats lightly and encourage people to report any suspicious activity. "The whole thing of, if you hear something, say something — we need that information. As we saw in Florida, it seems several kids had information," Hudson said. "They knew this individual had made certain comments and certain threats — especially kids. (KGTV) - U.S. PIRG Education Fund released a report Thursday indicating fidget spinners for sale at Target stores nationwide contained high levels of lead.The study was conducted on the Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Brass and Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Metal.U.S. PIRG posted on its website that it had alerted Target and the toy’s distributer, Bulls i Toy, but both were not addressing the lead concerns.According U.S. PIRG, Target and Bulls i Toy defended their choices to the Consumer Product Safety Commission that fidget spinners are not technically children’s products and subject to legal limits for lead.“Saying fidget spinners aren’t toys defies common sense, as millions of parents whose kids play with spinners can tell you,” said Kara Cook-Schultz, U.S. PIRG Education Fund toxics director. A search on Target's website Thursday showed the Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Brass was not available for sale and the Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Metal was not listed. 987

Sheli Riley has received emails from Capstone Management Company offering options to students like her daughter Kristin. "Everyone's gone. Everyone's home," says Kristin, as she and her mom made plans Saturday to pack up the apartment she shares with four friends. Saturday was the deadline for students in on-campus housing to move out. The normally bustling campus was mostly quiet. Sheli lamented the challenges for college students whose semesters have come to an abrupt halt. "You're in this great time of your life, loving every aspect of living there. All of a sudden you came home for the weekend and now it's over, she says." Sheli shared emails with 10News outlining the options they were given by the management company, which owns and operates the M@College apartments. According to the email, students can move out by April 1st and receive a small credit toward their leases. If the student finds someone to sublet, they receive an additional credit. Students are still responsible through the end of July, or the end of their lease term. Alternatively, if students choose to stay on campus, they receive a discount on rent, but the company may sublet the additional rooms of these shared apartments, which presents parents like Sheli with safety concerns. She would like to see the university intervene. SDSU sent 10News a statement saying in part, "these apartments are privately owned an operated," despite being on SDSU's campus. Capstone management also sent a statement, saying in part that they are working with the university to offer options to students. Sheli says one major frustration has been that the company has only offered a mailing address for any and all questions, rather than a phone number or email address to reach someone who might be able to help."It's hard when you hear they're doing relief from rent, nationwide... yet you get this through the university through the Montage." 2515
