According to a letter sent to Governor Gavin Newsom, the resignation will be effective close of business day on January 13, 2020. “It has been an honor to serve the people of California’s 50th District, and I greatly appreciate the trust they have put in me over the last 11 years,” Hunter concludes in the letter to Governor Gavin Newsom. Crews working in the area hit the gas line, causing the leak. It's unclear at this time how many residents are being evacuated.  337

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police have arrested a 26-year-old in connection with a Logan Heights house fire that killed three of his family members last weekend.Police say Wilber Romero was arrested Friday for homicide and arson in connection with the deaths of his parents 44-year-old Jose Romero and 46-year-old Nicolasa Maya-Romero, and his sister 21-year-old Iris Romero in a house fire on Sunday. Romero's mother and sister died at the hospital in the days following the blaze while his father died in the fire. The family’s 23-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son remain in the hospital. I woke up. When I woke up, my bed was on fire. I jumped out of bed and started screaming the house is on fire," Romero said after the blaze.One witness told 10News he could see one of the victims reaching through the bars in the windows, unable to escape the fire."The minute I stepped out of my restroom, my house on the inside felt warm, like really warm. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect wanted for shooting and killing a 27-year-old woman.Police say Robert Reed reportedly shot Sylvianita Widman during an apparent road-rage incident on the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive at 5:30 p.m. Monday.According to police, two cars were traveling north down Meadowbrook when they both stopped and the passengers got into an argument.RELATED: Woman dies after being shot in a Skyline intersectionWidman then reportedly approached Reed while he was in his car. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diegans now have even more problems they can report by the touch of a button.The city is continuing to add categories to its "Get it Done" smartphone app, which launched in 2016. The app originally allowed San Diegans to report stormwater and street issues, but currently has nine categories, including code enforcement, graffiti, and even passport appointments.The city says it gets 10,000 reports per month on the app.RELATED: San Diego battles illegally painted red curbsIn August, the city added features that allow people to report cars parked longer than 72 hours, illegal dumping, and HAZMAT related issues.
