SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police say a man was stabbed by his ex-girlfriend in a home on 3500 block of Adams Avenue just before 2:45 p.m. Sunday.A witness said she saw the man hobbling after the ex-girlfriend as she drove off. The witness followed the car long enough to get the license plate number.The man was bleeding from the right thigh.Police say neighbors jumped in to help the man, before he was transported to the hospital. Police say he is in stable condition.The ex-girlfriend returned to the scene and was arrested. SAN DIEGO, Calif (KGTV) - In an effort to calm people's fears about new streetlights equipped with cameras and sensors, the City of San Diego will hold a public forum Wednesday night to answer questions and explain what the new technology does, and does not do.The meeting is from 5:30 to 7 pm, at the Malcom X Library on 5148 Market Street.Over the last two years, the city has installed more than 3,000 new streetlights that have "Smart City" technology built into them. The lights have cameras, microphones and sensors to track activity around them throughout the day.RELATED: "Smart" Streetlights coming to San Diego"Pedestrians walking by, cars parking and then leaving, cars traveling by, which direction, how fast," explains Cody Hooven, the City of San Diego's Chief Sustainability Officer.It will also track weather information in real time.That information is turned into meta-data and uploaded to the cloud. According to the city, it can be used for research or to build apps to make life easier. The footage from the cameras isn't accessible to the public, and the cameras are not for surveillance. Also, the footage will only be stored on the camera for 5 days and then deleted.Police may only ask for footage after a crime is committed, and only as part of an investigation. According to the city, the footage has already been used to help SDPD solve a handful of crimes.Hooven also says the cameras will use GPS technology to ensure they only get footage of public spaces, and not areas that are expected to be private. The system uses a process called "curtilage" to blur any areas that shouldn't be shown.Hooven says the city is ready to answer any other questions people have about the new lights at Wednesday's meeting."Technology is coming and we're trying to embrace it to provide a lot of benefits to the city and save us money," she says. (KGTV) - It started when Amber Gilles posted a photo of San Diego Starbucks barista Lenin Gutierrez with the caption “Meet lenen from Starbucks who refused to serve me cause I’m not wearing a mask. Next time I will wait for cops and bring a medical exemption.”A stranger in Orange County, Matt Cowan, said he wanted to donate a few dollars to the barista in tip money, so he started a GoFundMe. As the photo on Facebook filled with hundreds of thousands of interactions and comments from people supporting the barista, the tip money eventually hit more than 0,000 to be donated to the barista. So there’s several things going on and not only that but it doesn’t even work.”She provided ABC 10News with two documents to prove her medical exemption. One is a pelvic exam from 2015 with results that say “probable exophytic fibroid arising from the anterior wall of the uterus measuring 2.9 cm size.” and “simple 2.5 cm left ovarian cyst.” A second piece of paper is a handwritten note with letterhead from a San Diego chiropractor who she asked not be named. The hand written note reads “Amber has underlying breath conditions that prevent her from wearing a mask or any type of facial covering whatsoever. Please contact me if have any questions.”When that chiropractor who wrote the note was called, he said he could not discuss her situation. When Gilles was asked why a chiropractor gave her a breathing-related medical exemption, she responded “because they are dedicated to providing non-invasive personalized care and treatment. They are real doctors.”When asked if she has an apology or message to the public, Gilles said “No absolutely not. I feel like I need the apology. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — California fire authorities say Pacific Gas & Electric Co. power lines sparked the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in state history.Cal Fire said Wednesday the lines in the Pulga area ignited the Nov. 8 fire that killed 85 people in Paradise.The investigation also identified a second nearby ignition site involving vegetation and electrical distribution lines, also owned and operated by the San Francisco-based utility.The second fire was quickly consumed by the initial fire.Lynsey Paulo, a spokeswoman for PG&E, did not immediately comment.The fire in Butte County destroyed nearly 15,000 homes.The nation's largest utility filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January as it faced tens of billions of dollars in potential liability costs related to wildfires in 2017 and 2018. 823

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- California wildlife regulators have postponed the start of the commercial Dungeness crab season to protect whales and sea turtles from becoming entangled in fishing gear.The Department of Fish and Wildlife announced Wednesday that it's pushing back the Nov. 15 start of the season to Dec. 1. The postponement affects fishing zones from Mendocino County north of San Francisco to the Mexican border.The San Francisco Chronicle says 50 humpback whales were spotted in one week last month off the coast of San Francisco and another 25 in the Monterey Bay area.The recreational fishing season will be allowed to open on Saturday. 655
