SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Heavy rains and wind across San Diego County hit one Coronado business particularly hard. The Coronado Tree Farm had only been open for about a week before Thursday's Grinch of a storm rolled through the area, heavily damaging the small farm at the ferry landing. The farm posted on Facebook that it would have to close for the season, before it could fully deliver some Christmas joy."Sad to say that the Tree Farm has to be closed down," the farm wrote. "The rain destroyed all our inventory and commercial props, generator, hay, games, prizes, tables, fencing, tents etc... We would have to start all over again in order to run it."Steve Albert, co-owner of the Coronado Flower Lady, told 10News they tried to curtail any damages but the weather simply took hold."I started trying to get everything I could under the big tent, and while I was doing that, one would break lose, and then another one," Albert said. "The whole thing is just kind of anchored together. The whole thing just went."Some of the trees and decorations are in good condition and will be offered up to anyone. The farm will have trees available Friday for anyone interested. Those interested can also call 619-321-7009. 1220

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — During California's stay at home order, city leaders say they will not be enforcing most parking citations.Parking enforcement in the City of San Diego was placed on a holiday or Sunday schedule, unless otherwise stated on the meter. The city will still be enforcing red, white, blue and time enforcement areas due to public safety concerns.RELATED: San Diego beach parking lots closed to discourage crowds during COVID-19 order"Just make sure you read the time limit signs or the signs on the meter. If the sign says 'Except Sundays and Holidays' (which I believe most do say that) then you do not need to pay. If the sign on the meter says 'Everyday' then you do need to pay," said Anna Hill, with the city, said.No timeline was placed on the parking enforcement changes.More information on the city's parking enforcement can be found online. While the current parking rules may entice residents to go outside, city leaders are urging locals to remain inside except for essential trips during the coronavirus stay at home order.RELATED COVERAGE:What's the difference? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Due to the pandemic, high school sports are officially on hold until January at the earliest. But while frustration is setting in, CIF is doing everything it can to get the kids back on the field. There's nothing like high school football and the sights and sounds of Friday Night Lights, or a slam dunk on the basketball court. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, it's wait-and-see for every high school athlete."I think it's very disappointing. Are kids, are families, are schools and communities have been waiting quite a long time and it's been tough," says San Diego Section CIF Commissioner Joe Heinz. There was hope of a December start, but as COVID-19 surged, it was negated by the California Department of Public Health. "It's definitely a fine balance across the nation as different things are happening," Heinz said. "I know our executive director is talking on a regular basis with the California Department of Health and with the governor's office."So for the time being, players, coaches, schools, and everybody else associated with high school athletics must be patient. It has everyone frustrated."You can't blame them. I think we are all frustrated. It's been a long time coming, and when you see other things going on in other states, which has been successful," said Heinz. Now, if the OK is given next month, Heinz says they will have a plan in place. However, there is no guarantee all sports can be played. "Obviously we could get to some point where we just don't have enough time to get a season in. There is no way to compact all of our sports into one season. We're just waiting for that opportunity to put a plan in place. We are just waiting for the word from the state," Heinz said. 1737
