Rouhani is in China for a state visit between Tuesday and Thursday. He attended the fourth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Shanghai.

The summit came six decades after the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence was put forward by Asian countries and adopted as a guide to international relations, said Li Weijian, a researcher with Shanghai Institute for International Studies.

Earlier reports said Russia would also send 12 aircraft to participate in the SCO drill to be held from Aug. 24-29 at the Zhurihe training base. The aircraft will enter China on Sunday, according to a Chinese military statement.

Donohue and several delegation members said deeper cooperation between the United States and China will benefit the two countries and the global economic growth. The U.S. business circles will continue to promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation and the development of U.S.-China ties.

The EcoPartnership is a platform for cooperation among local governments and organizations under the U.S.- China Ten Year Framework for Cooperation on Energy and Environment signed during the fifth SED in 2008.
