With the Golden State Warriors facing elimination tonight in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, star forward Kevin Durant plans on playing when the ball is tipped shortly after 9 p.m. ET, ESPN reported. A league source told ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski that Durant plans to play after injuring his right calf on May 8. The Warriors had no problem closing out their series against Houston before dispatching Portland without Durant, but have struggled against the Raptors, trailing 3-1 in the best-of-7 series. Officially, Durant is listed as "questionable" on the team's injury report. Even with Durant returning from injury, how many minutes he is able to play and how effective he can be is still a mystery. Durant practiced with the Warriors on Monday. On Sunday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr addressed Durant's possible return. "He's doing more today and then we'll know more after that," he said. "The game plan changes if Kevin is out there or if he's not. So you adapt accordingly. It changes matchups, it changes rotations, all that stuff. That's true all regular season you deal with that, so you're constantly adapting and adjusting according to who is available."Even a hobbled Durant will be welcomed by the Warriors. He is both the two-time reigning Finals MVP, and a 10-time All Star. 1303

With Halloween coming up, there’s candy everywhere. It can be easy to go overboard on the sweets, but nutritionists say there are ways to indulge and keep your health in check. With around 600 million pounds of Halloween candy bought each year, registered dietitian Sara Scheler says some treats are more nutritious than others. Scheler says she recommends Reese’s over Snickers. “I prefer them because they have simple ingredients,” said Scheler. “There’s really just sugar, a little bit of fat, chocolate and peanuts, where Snickers has a much longer label and corn syrup as well.”What about M&Ms vs. KitKats? “I would pick KitKats over M&Ms. I don’t like M&Ms because they have all that artificial color along with them and they do have a lot more concentrated sugar.”SweetTarts or Nerds?“So SweetTarts are my pick over Nerds because Nerds have a slightly larger serving size even though that box is really tiny, it still has more candy in it.”Twix or Milk Way?“Between Twix and Milk Way, I would actually say that’s a tie. They have similar amount of calories, similar amounts of added sugar.”If you plan on indulging in a few pieces of candy over the next few weeks, Scheler also suggests eating them at a certain time.“It’s best to eat sugar, especially processed sugar, with a meal, so that our blood glucose level doesn’t spike as high. So, I would recommend having candy with your meal, right after your meal, or in between meals,” said Scheler.Scheler also suggests sticking to only a few pieces of fun size candy. 1549

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A cyclist says he narrowly escaped injury after finding a camouflaged 'booby trap' on a popular trail along Lake Hodges.Steven Lennox made the discovery minutes into his bike ride Friday afternoon on a trail in the San Dieguito River Park. He was taking photos that afternoon, so he was going slower than normal and stopped when he saw the shadow on the ground."It was a shadow line all the way across. I looked up from there and I saw the ivy," said Lennox. But the ivy wasn't the only thing stretched across the trail. "As I got closer, I saw the rusty wire," said Lennox. In several photos he took, the ivy is seen intertwined with barbed wire and tied to a tree."Three to four loops ... had to weave it though. Somebody spent some time putting it together," said Lennox. The barbed wire appeared to be pulled from an old fence and camouflaged with a nearby vine."When you're being deceptive and hiding something, that's being cruel," said Lennox. The wire was strewn across at a height that would hit a cyclist in the chest or neck area."I don't think someone would have enough speed to cut their head off, but somebody could snap a neck," said Lennox. The discovery was made along a trail popular with cyclists, hikers and horseback riders. Rangers didn't find any similar hazards on the trail and tell us there haven't been any similar incidents in the past. Lennox says he has seen large rocks left on the trail, possibly to slow down cyclists. 1474
