PAPILLION, Nebraska — Papillion Police have arrested an 82-year-old man for third-degree sexual assault of a child and child abuse. According to police, there were several incidents in 2011 and 2012 involving a juvenile victim and Eugene Schneekloth. The alleged victim was helping out with Scheekloth's wife's in-home day care, Janet Schneekloth Day Care, which is now under investigation. Schneekloth will have his bond set this week in Sarpy County. 470

Police in Delray Beach, Florida are looking for the person accused of attacking a 60-year-old man with a skateboard Sunday afternoon. The victim told police that a younger man used a skateboard as a weapon after the two exchanged words just before noon in the Dotterel Road neighborhood.The victim said he and his wife were walking around their property when they encountered a young man in a dark t-shirt, baggy shorts and dark skater sneakers.The victim's wife told police that she took a picture of the suspect because they have had problems with young men on skateboards damaging cars in the parking lot.The man with the skateboard told the victim to move, but he refused.Police said the suspect swung the skateboard, missing the victim, who fell to the ground. As he got up, he told officers that he unsuccessfully tried to push the attacker away. However the suspect, holding the skateboard in both hands, hit the man on the left side of his head, leaving him with a cut on his left ear and swelling on his head. Delray Beach Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene of the attack. 1163

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — As the coronavirus continues to grip parts of South Florida, there are growing concerns over hospitalizations and the numbers of intensive care unit beds available.Last week the Sunshine State hit another grim milestone with more than 1,800 hospitalizations — the highest in a single day since the start of the pandemic, according to state records.Many hospitals are taking action against the record-setting numbers.Some hospitals in the state, including Bethesda East, Bethesda West and Boca Raton Regional Center in South Florida, are now rescheduling elective procedures that require overnight stays to help free up space.In Florida, 56 hospital ICUs have hit capacity and another 35 hospitals show ICU bed availability of 10% or less.As of Wednesday morning, many Palm Beach County hospital ICUs were reportedly near capacity.Florida Gov. Ron Desantis said hospitals are seeing more patients who are coming in for other reasons and then learning they have COVID-19. He added that is part of the reason the positive numbers are rising."People didn't all of the sudden stop having heart attacks," DeSantis said. PINE VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - Snow came down steadily and heavy at times in the Pine Valley area of East San Diego County Thursday. At Sunrise Hwy and Old Highway 80, the California Highway Patrol and Caltrans established a checkpoint requiring snow chains to proceed toward higher elevations of Mt. Laguna. The drive eastbound on Interstate 8 from San Diego was largely heavy rain and wind until Highway 79, when the rain turned to snow at about 3,700 feet.
