(KGTV) -- A man was found with multiple stab wounds at a home late Wednesday night, according to Chula Vista police.It happened just after 10 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue.First responders arrived at the location and found the victim in the backyard bleeding from seven wounds, said police.The victim originally called police claiming he was shot, but when paramedics arrived they noticed the man was actually stabbed seven times.Police said his injuries are non life-threatening.It's unclear what led up to the stabbing. 556

CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the torso and leg Friday morning at a homeless encampment in Chula Vista, police said.Firefighters requested police assistance at 4:30 a.m. after responding to a report of an injured man in the 2400 block of Main Street, east of Interstate 5, Chula Vista police Lt. (KGTV) - Chula Vista's city council will revisit whether to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana this month.City leaders said earlier this month they would take a look at the draft of the proposal that would allow Chula Vista to permit, license, and fully regulate commercial marijuana. The council will open the matter again during their Feb. 27 meeting.If passed, Chula Vista's ordinance would allow for 12 commercial licenses, including eight storefronts. Pot shop will be required to be at least 150 feet from homes and for applicants to have a year of experience operating a legal marijuana business.RELATED:  654

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- As businesses fight to survive during the most restrictive purple tier, one industry says they feel forgotten.“We don’t seem to be able to move forward,” said Alita Fernandez, marketing director for Play City in Eastlake.Play City is an indoor playground full of inflatable jumpers and bounce houses. It was used to being filled with kids and their families—now, it sits empty.Fernandez said they planned to reopen by January with increased safety and sanitation measures. However, with most of their employees temporarily laid off, the county in the purple tier, and the PPP loans gone, the future does not look good.Indoor playgrounds will not be able to reopen until the least restrictive yellow tier, per state guidelines. At that time, capacity can only be at 50 percent.“I don’t know if Play City will stand, if we will be able to keep our doors open or to open back,” Fernandez said, fighting tears. “We do not know.”She said in the meantime, the bills keep piling up.Fernandez is hopeful a vaccine can help turn things around. She urges government leaders to look at all industries as they struggle through this pandemic.“Maybe they already have all grown up children,” Fernandez said. “Maybe they can go ahead and turn around and look at us.
